I'm on a coastal that goes one way LA to Vancouver, but I am flying back in to LAX. What's the best way to get from LAX to San Pedro? If anyone has taken a "Supershuttle" type of van, how much was it?

The easiest way to get back to San Pedro from LAX is to take a cab... about 40 or 50 dollars. Would probably be less for a shuttle.

SuperShuttle is $36 for two. Grab it right at the airport - or supershuttle.com.

Up next - Pacific NorthWest Coastal!

We took Supershuttle from San Pedro to Beverly Hills for $58 for 3. I think they have a flat rate for LAX. Check www.supershuttle.com (http://www.supershuttle.com).
Another company out in LA is Prime Time Shuttle - 1-800-Red-Vans

Edited to add: Don't jump in a cab. We sat on the freeway for over 1 1/2 hours in traffic. We shudder to think what would have been on the meter.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do then by the ones you did. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

We paid taxi meter rate from Long Beach Hyatt to the San Pedro pier and it was about $30 + tip (I think I remember correctly). I don't know the milage from LAX to the San Pedro pier, but I would think it is more, plus the traffic as already mentioned. I'd go with one of the shuttles definitely. Flat fee is best.

When we took the taxi cab from LAX to San Pedro and then back again after the cruise was over on Alril, we paid a flat rate. It was a predetermined $40 rate - the meter was not even turned on.

The cheapest way might be ship's transfers.

Transfers might be the cheapest, but it's the longest in time. You have to wait for the bus to load luggage and people. I'd rather do the shuttle or taxi. We have always used a taxi without a problem. As another mentioned, it's a flat rate, with no meter running.
Happy Sailing!
PS We are doing the 3-dayer LA/Vancouver, but flying back to Ontario airport instead of LAX

$40 flat rate is not bad. I'll keep it in mind. I'd want to either arrange a taxi or a shuttle, I've heard Princess transfers are slow.

FYI: it is a flat rate of $17 from LGB airport to hotels in LGB.

I was replying to the comment that ship's transfers might be the cheapest. I have no idea if they are competitive with shuttle service or taxi but I do know that they take forever due to the slow pokes getting on the bus. Been there done that, never again.
