Are the Island Princess balconies like the Grand Class balconies, in that some are more private than others? On the Star, our Dolphin Deck mini had a wide open balcony, but our Caribe Deck BA had a balcony which was half covered and half open.
Has anyone been in a BA on Caribe Deck on the Island? What was the balcony like?
Thanks..........want to book this week, but thought I'd better find out first.

The Balconies on the Caribe deck are the way to go on the Island. If you want to look straight down at the water book one of the cabins on the bump outs.

Yes, the decks are cantilevered like the Grand class. Our BA cabin on Island was double-depth, half-covered, and directly below us was the fully uncovered balcony of a Diamond deck balcony cabin.

We had C402 on the Island Princess and it was great - half covered, half open - you could look down directly to the mini suites and if you sat in the uncovered part, people on the deck above could see you, but that didn't bother us - we just wanted to enjoy watching the sea go by whilst sipping a gin & tonic - we'll definitely book a BA category for our next cruise!

Thanks so much! We loved the BA Category on the Star more than the Mini Suite we also had on another cruise on the Star. It was nice, in Alaska, to be able to sit under cover when it was "misty" out. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Now, back to the drawing board to check out the "bump" cabins.......
I appreciate your answers.......

We were in C637 which is the first cabin of the aft bump out and loved it. It was a great view forward.
