Day 3 Live from The Westerdam

We woke up to a beautiful day, mostly sunny. The inside passage is as smooth as glass, did notice a little movement last night about 11:00 p.m., I think we were crossing over to the inside passage. It was a gentle rock which put us right to sleep.
Had breakfast in the dinning room, the eggs Benedict were wonderful, the rest of the group had biscuits and gravy, the gravy looked awful, but they said it was good, recommend to ask for extra gravy, there was probably a Tablespoon of gravy on one biscuit.
They had a sale on Lido deck for Alaska stuff with a 50% discount, I think everything was still over priced.
Mostly t-shirts, sweat shirts, vest and jackets. I’m planning on checking prices in Juneau and see who had the better prices.
Did a little walking this morning to get ride of the weight gain I’ve incurred. Checked out the pictures and returned to the cabin to watch the view. Beautiful snow capped mountains. We are seeing Whales spout and several dolphins breaking water. We will be at the glaciers in a few hours.
Tonight we eat at the Pinnacle Grill, the dinning room is serving Prime Rib. The CD is very good, very young looking, very personable with a good sense of humor.
What an awesome site, the glaciers were so wonderful. We had sunshine, the sun gleaming off the snow and ice was beautiful. We saw and heard several calving. Going to Margerie Glacier was the highlight of the trip. We went in and the port side was next to the glacier and after and hour the ship turned so that Starboard was next to the glacier, we stayed another hour and watched the calving. If you have a balcony, you won’t miss a thing. We did go up on deck for a short time but it was very crowded.
Dinner at the Pinnacle Grill was a waste of $20.00pp, my DH’s Rib eye steak was a little tough, my shrimp was okay and our friends said there was nothing great about their dinner,. The food has been equal to better in the dinning room. Service was excellent and the crew were funny and courteous Went to the show after dinner, They had a singer by the name of Dana Paul, I wasn’t impressed and didn’t stay for the show after the first three songs. Maybe I was just to full and tired to appreciate him.
Tomorrow we will be in Juneau and the Captain Larry Whale watch.

Thanks for posting.

Sorry that you all didn't enjoy the Pinnacle. There has been much talk on this board about the shrimp scampi - most of us do not like it. Have never ordered the ribeye - just the filets in the steak department.
