Does anyone know whether commission is charged by HAL for American Express Traveller's Cheques issued in US currency? We will be on the Rotterdam.

There should be no charge to cash AmEx Travelers checks at the front office.

We were not charged for cashing travelers checks on our 4/28 cruise. They weren't AmEx, but don't think that would make a difference.

I've never been charged for chasing travelers checks on HAL. My bank uses American Express Travelers Checks.

I've never been charged for chasing travelers checks on HAL. My bank uses American Express Travelers Checks.

Do you chase them the whole cruise? :)

This question occasions another one ... how much US Currency does the ship carry??? I would imagine that the answer to this question is highly classified.

Sorry about that John - but every time we have an electrical storm - and there have been quite a few lately - my computer seems to get the hic cups.
