I know this is a tough topic b/c everyone has their own tastes, but our family has been on a lot of Celebrity cruises and loved the food (although quality has diminished says my mom over the years). I am just curious how say the Caribbean PRincess compares to the Celebrity Millenium in food quality, menu chioces (variety, interesting choices). Are the 2 restaurants worth it, i have heard bad reviews on the steak house. We are going to do traditional late seating b.c of all the bad reviews I have heard on alternative dining. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

We will be on Star Pirncess in 10 days. We were on two Celebrity cruises last year. I will let you know after our return.

I will also try to report back; I am sailing the Caribbean Princess May 22.
I sailed the Galaxy in May 2003 and the Golden Princess in September 2003. My experience on these 2 specific sailings was that the Golden food was very, very good and the Galaxy food was unsurpassed. I realize this is subjective and can vary sailing to sailing, so I'm always eager for another round of "research"! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I have sailed both and feel qualified to posit a reply.
Celebrity is known for it's food, and rightly so. I found several items to be VERY good to oustanding.
Princess is nearly there on their overall items but does offer a great deal more variety IMHO. Three may be somethings on the Princess menu that aren't as polished as Celebrity but there will always be SOMETHING that is.
I have had some pretty unremarkable meals on Celebrity AND had no real options available to fix it. On Princess you can always say "eh, let's go here and have a bite".

Having cruised on both lines several times, I would definitely vote for Celebrity. Although I don't think Princess is terrible, I just feel that Celebrity does a much better job as far as both quality of food and the presentation. It's nice that Princess offers a number of items that you can order any time (i.e., steak, salmon, baked potato, Caesar salad, etc.) but I've never needed alternate choices on Celebrity - always at least one thing I like on the menu.
As mentioned perviously, this is a very subjective topic. Whatever line you choose, it's a guarantee that you won't go hungry!

We sailed Celebrity in December and found the quality of food to be very good however I felt it wasn't as good as everyone seems to rave about. Quite frankly our Carnival (Legend) cruise offered a great variety of foods and was at least at par in terms of quality.
I'm looking forward to the Princess experience when we sail in Jan 2005.
