I just confirmed my DW and I on our "Exclusive Member Preview of the Sapphire Princess" on June 9th. I remember patiently awaiting pictures, previews and any bits of information about the Caribbean Princess so I thought I'd reciprocate. I wouldn't think they're going to let us tour every cabin you request (besides, the tour isn't long enough cause we’re going to be eating lunch http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif), but what do you want to know?

Hi Marlinmike. Yes if you get a chance to get to the Aft Pool (Terrace) and check out the aft facing cabins on the port side #A744 & A746 and let me know if I picked right for my Cruise in '05. I noticed I don't live a long ways from you. Thanks Roy

http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif ohhhh, ohhhh, ohhhhh... MarlinMike--please check out A744 & A746 like Roy says! We are booked in these 2 for an Australia sailing, and are DYING to find out how private these 2 balcony cabins are, as well as whether the cabin steward can open the balcony separator so we and children can have one large balcony. I am trying to find close-up aft pics so I can visually judge.
Thanks ahead,
Barbara

marlinmike - we may be there on the 9th also - my husband is waiting to see if he can get the time off work. Otherwise, we will be in the June 11 pre-inaugural cruise.

How did you get the invite to the Preview? I have written a couple of emails to the Captains Circle trying to at least attend the christening, but they have not repied. Thanks.

MarlinMike, not to add to your list, but if you could check out our cabin to?!? We are going to be in A514 (Aloha Deck). It's our first cruise and I'm not sure what to expect. Is the balcony fully covered? Thanks in advance!! Kim

Marlinmike -
We're in the cheap seats, but were wondering how "partially obstructed" the view is in our cabin - E509 - if you get the chance.
Thanks in advance!!

Sounds like they aren't giving us a ton of time ont the ship this coming Wednesday. We got our e-mail confirmation yesterday that we need to take with us. They want us there at noon in preparation for baording. Then they will start boarding the ship at 12:30 as long as clearance by security, customs and immigration is done. We will be assigned our dining room upon boarding the ship and are to go straight to the dining room for lunch at 1:00 is says.
It says that then we will have the oppurtunity to explore the ship at our leisure. It does say that we are to pay special attention to the time as we are all required to disembark by 4Pm at the very latest. Man, that is frustrating. I was planning on just staying onboard and not leaving.
They are also going to have the future cruise sales desk open so we can book a future cruise. I can't imagine how busy that will be.
Can't wait for next Wednesday so we can see the ship and hopefully view some of the rooms.

We are also in some of the cheaper cabins. Would love info/picture of any of the Plaza Cabins that sleep 4 (P303, P321, P335...).
Also would love to see pictures of some of the general area, such as Calypso Reef & Pool, Fun Zone and the Grand Casino.
What ever info you report back will be appreciated! Have Fun!

SeattleCruiser,
Don't know how I got selected other than being a Captain's Circle member (with only one Princess cruise under my belt). Maybe it's 'cause I have a cruise booked?? http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Hi Marlinmike:
I guess you got an invitation to tour Sapphire huh? It should be a lot like the Caribbean Princess, right? I'll look in again to see your comments about her after you see her.
I called Princess the other say to see if we could tour and they advised you only get an invitation if you have cruised with them before, at least once.
Have a great time.

We're going to be there also. I believe this invite went only to certain Circle members, just like their other cruise ads. As far as I can tell, it's just random. My wife gets some ads and I get some, and we don't get the same ones. Hulagirl, I see you're going to be there also.....we've communicated some! Wanna know a secret? I'm not getting off the ship, I'm hiding someplace secretly! Don't I wish! See ya later.

Suncat,
Yes it is VERY similar to the CP, but the main differences I think will be the layouts of the restaurants, skywalkers and pools. I think it will be more like the Diamond since they were both built in Japan. I'm sure the room/deck layouts will be the same though.
Am going to the game tonight so it'll be interesting to see if it's tied up to the dock yet.

I think they only select those from in and around the Seattle area.

The Sapphire Princess preview tour today was a lot of fun, but didn't give us much time to see the boat. We boarded about noon and had lunch in the Santa Fe Dining Room. They had all 4 PC dining rooms, so there must have been around 1,000 of us. We were served a five course lunch, which took until about 2:30. We then went to a show from 2:45 until about 3:15, then we walked around until we had to get off by 4:00. There were only a few rooms open so I wasn't able to physically go into any rooms requested, but I do my best to answer your requests.
rowbob50 & bzv143: I saw your room, but was unable to see into them. The decks were around a partition wall so were private from the Terrace Pool area. I tried to stick my head around the wall and could only barely see that they looked like normal sized BA type decks. The good news is that from your rooms to the pool is only about 25'. These rooms should be very private with a great view aft but very close to the Terrace Pool.
e095521:
Sorry didn't get up to the Lido (at least down the halls) because there was nothing open.
jeffejo:
The only Caribe room we went into was a full suite. The Caribe decks are, in my opinion, the best either in the suites or the balcony rooms because they're 1/2 covered in case of rain.
kimba595:
Yes the Aloha Deck decks are completely covered - which is good for Alaska. In fact A514 would have the extra overhang from the Horizon Court above.
rxmurphy & NJfamily:
Sorry - didn't get to the Emerald or Plaza Decks as we ran out of time.
If you have any other questions, I'll monitor this thread for a few days.
