Does anyone know if the dress code for personal choice dining is the same as in the traditional dining rooms? We are going on the Caribbean Princess in September and have heard different stories. We thought it was casual dining every night but now we are being told you still have to adhere to the dress codes for traditional dining. I was hoping to get the dining room experience without dragging all the "fancy clothes"
Thanks for any help with this.

Linda, the dress code is the same for PC. The only difference is if your eating in Horizon Court or Caribe Cafe (sp), then you can dress in shorts or that type of thing.

I called Princess about this, and they told me the dress code is the same. They also told me the code smart casual applied to Horizon Court and the Caribe Cafe at dinner, no shorts at dinner. I told them I have heard people wear shorts at Horizon Court at dinner, but they stuck to their guns and said definitely not. July 3 will be my first cruise, so I have no personal previous experience.

We sign up for personal choice dining...we really do like it. Dress code is the same as traditional. We do go to one formal dinner in the dining room. On the other formal night we dress up a little, but not in formal clothing, and dine in the Horizon Courtor have room service. Some do wear shorts, etc. on formal nights (not in the dining room), but it is nice, and respectful, to at least look a little more dressy. I wear slacks and a nice blouse and husband wears slacks, not shorts.

The dress code is actually set for the evening - regardless if it is Traditional or PC dining.

On the Grand last year everyone wore shorts in the Horizon court. Someone who has been on the Caribbean Princess will have to let us know for sure.
Formal night in Horizon we did see people wearing resort casual clothes.
