Hi everyone,
Today is the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) food drive. If your area is doing this, please put a can of food in or near your mail box for your letter carrier to pick up. The food collected will go to your local food bank.
Thank you Judi

A friend of mine is a postal carrier and he said this is the worst day in the life of a postal carrier. Not only do they not have any room to carry everything, people just don't seem to know the meaning of "non-perishable". He said he thinks people just clean out their pantry and refrigerators and leave him a bag of garbage. In our area it's not just a can of food, it's as much as you want to give. I think it is a great idea but I can see his point.

My husband is a letter carrier also. He has a walking route so you can just imagine how much fun he has today. It's worth it and in the long run he doesn't mind the extra work. Thanks everyone!!

Done, this is a really big deal here and they got 60,000 pounds of food last year to help restock food pantries for the summer.
If you don't know about this and don't have time to go to the store this is a great time to clean out your pantry of those odd cans of stuff you forgot why you bought.
Happy Cruising
