We are looking to book on Star and are looking at the obstructed view cabins. Do some of them have better views? Like cabin #E605, between the lifeboats as those right by the life boats cabin #E602? These cabins are on the Emerald deck.

Haven't sailed with Princess before so would like any info on these cabins. Or if an inside would be better?

We want to sail in Sept. so a balcony isn't nessary but we would like the light from an ocean view cabin.

Also how does PC dining work compared to triditional dining?

Thanking you inadvance.

Cindy,

The cabins are pretty much just like you see them on the deckplan. You would have a better view from E605 than E602.

I personally like the Category E cabins a lot, as they are considered "partially obstructed", but don't really have anything in front of them. They are a great value.

If you like light, an inside won't be the best choice for you. Dark as a black hole when the door is shut.

Check out my recent post on the Diamond Princess Coastal - review for a full explaination of Princess' Personal Choice dining as compared to traditional. You won't have Diamond's special Personal Choice, but I explained the regular Personal Choice before getting into the differences for the Diamond. I think its clear enough.

The Star is a beautiful ship! I've been on her three times and was married on her last fall. She has a special place in my heart. Email me if you want to see some pictures. SuzyCruisy@aol.com, ask for "Star Pictures".

Cheers!

Suzy

We have a similar cabin on Diamond, yes placement makes a difference, use the deck plans to see what is what, bearing in mind that a cat guarentee might get you moved up ot a cleary not obstructed view
