Just Booked Pacific Northwest on the Diamond - 09/20/04 [Archive]

I just booked our cabin for the 09/20/04 sailing on the Diamond to surprise my husband. His Birthday will be the day we get off the ship but other than that the timing is perfect. I am trying to keep it a secret and have to talk to his Chief about getting the time off so wish me luck. Is anyone else going on this sailing?

Well my surprise didn't work out and he knows, but hey now he won't wonder why I'm so excited and not telling him. We had originally booked a cabin on the Diamond for our 10th anniversary but then we got a cruise certificate from the inlaws and did Alaska last summer on the Radiance!! We fell in love with the Radiance class ships and will have fun comparing her to the Princess' Grand Class. I'm sure it will be a hard thing to do. LOL. Happy Mother's Day to everyone.

If you used a booked on board booking for it, you will probably NOT get ship board credits, my paperwork says 7-9 days as a minimum length for the cabin credits.

We saw the Diamond in Mazatlan when we took the Vision last month. She was huge compared to the Vision and was beautiful. Do you know it there is a Roll Call for this sailing yet? It will be just my husband and I but it is nice to have people to hang out with too. The Radiance was perfect for Alaska because there are windows everywhere, more glass than most ships. So it was hard to miss all the sights and just about anywhere was a good place to sit and watch the scenery (sp?).

Yeah, but they just voted this new "leave policy" into effect and it looks like the only way we will be able to go is to pull the medical leave angle. So as it stands we won't be going and I have to find something else. I was thinking about maybe doing the Mexico run sometime in October but I think that may be too close to our cruise in December and I wanted to go somewhere besides Mexico. We have a timeshare in Cabo and have done a bunch of land vacations down that way. Of all the ports I will have to say that Puerto Vallarta is my favorite. I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your ideas and laughs, but I think I lost this one.

In your listing of sailings for the Mexican Riviera you show a date for 11/04. Is this correct? Princess web site has sailing as 11/06 and this is the sailing we are booked on.
