we fancy doing a back 2 back Carribean cruise on the golden princess starting 1 Aug 2005, prices over here are expensive but on the US sites are can't find a back 2 back price. Do you have to get in touch with the agent? And roughly how much would it cost in US dollars?? Thanx in advance

I think you will have to contact a TA directly. Alternately, you could just price the 2 cruise separately. I don't think there is a price advantage to doing a B2B cruise, but there are upgrade possibilities

Back to backs are booked as two separate cruises. Occasionally Princess will offer minor upgrades to those who book two successive cruises, for example, taking both itineraries out of San Juan. Hopefully someone will be able to help you get around the roadblocks that many passengers from England experience when trying to book cruises.

You might even try calling Princess directly to get an idea of pricing. It would, at worst, be an upper limit on what you should expect to pay sans air.

Completed:
Sea Princess, Royal Princess, Grand Princess (3X), Caribbean Princess, Golden Princess
Coming up:
Tahitian Princess Oct 14/04
Caribbean Princess redux 6/25/05

I have not heard of price break with Princess, Carnival or Royal Carib for back to back cruises.
I do have a brochure from Costa cruise lines, and they do have a price break for second week. The deal is, pay regular price for first week, and second week pay the lowest inside fare rate. Of course this saves the most if you have a larger stateroom.
Brochure prices average $1,200 pp for balcony cabin and inside lists for $549 pp, depending on season.

Lindauk, I have booked this year using a US travel agent. To compare pricing to UK agent you need to factor in air fares, transfer costs and overnight hotel B&B (if appropriate) as UK prices include these items.Savings can be made using a US agent but much will depend on air fares.

Try using travelocity.com online for initial price guidance for the cruise element, although Kims Kruises will usually better these and she knows how to handle UK bookings.

Will be happy to e mail you with further guidance if needed-others on this board have been extremely kind and helpful to me when I was where you are now.

Just to endorse JanetMarie's comments. We were on this ship last summer in the Med and it was simply brilliant.A great choice.
