We will be disembarking in Seattle on the way home and want to know what is the earliest time we can safely book a flight home? It says we dock at 7:00 am---would 11:45 am be cutting it too close? Does anyone know how far the airport is from the dock? Thanks!

The dock to the airport can be as much as 45 minutes (the dock is in the City and the airport is between Seattle and Tacoma) if traffics permits.

Equivalent ports for dock-airport travel are Los Angeles or San Francisco.

That said, and allowing for the minimum of 1 hour at the airport for check-in and security, 11:45am may be a bit tight. You may want to see if there are flights leaving an hour or so later so your last cruise experiences can be relaxed, not harried and hassled.

Most book flights for around 1 and later. Security can be a real hazzle at times.

WE just returned from our Westerdam Cruise and our flight out of Seattle was 11:46a.m. I was worried about getting to the airport in time, what if we had fog, what if the ship was late, what if we were delayed in disembarkment. But all was well, we were off the ship by 7:45 (we were scheduled for 8:15), we had a problem trying to find transportation to the airport since we need a van with a lift. Talked to the cruise people and they put us on a handicap bus with lift, we had to wait for about 45 minutes to load the bus before we left. Arrived at the airport about 9:30a.m. There were long lines for check in and for security but having a wheelchair does speed us straight through.
If you aren't afraid of unforeseen problems, you should go ahead a book your flight.

If I am getting off a ship in Seattle, I usually don't book a flight until around 2 PM.
