laundry on golden princess

I am traveling on Golden 5/16 (yahoo 6 days left!) and was wondering: do they charge for the self service washers and dryers and do they charge for detergent? I think it is $1 for washer, $1 for Dryer. and maybe $1 for a one use box of detergent. You can pick up a small box of detergent or liquid bottle, if you are doing more loads, if you are doing any site-seeing in San Juan before leaving PR. We find doing laundry on boardis the best way to go pack lighter, and best of all almost no wash and dry to do when you get home. HAVE FUN!

Used the washers and dryers on board last week.

It is $1 wash, 50 cents dry (but plan at least two cycles based on my experience or divide up the load between the two dryers). The little boxes of detergent are $1.

The week of 5/2, we were the only ship in port each stop. It was wonderful. I have been in St. Thomas with 5 other cruise ships--what a nightmare--Times Square is less crowded!

I like to do a load or two laundry on board cuz my DH loves to fish! I buy PUREX detergent in tablets and pack what I think I'll need in baggies with dryer sheets. These tablets stay in my laudry room for traveling and when I run out of my regular stuff. I learned this convient trick from this wonderful site. Enjoy your trip!
