Oh well, after all the stories about Personal choice dining looming we decided to try and be switched to Traditional dining...well we are #166 on the list! LOL Guess we arent the ONLY ones who had the idea. Mmmmm chances are slim and it looks like its Personal dining for us!! We have until September so hopefully they will get all the kinks out. For those of you who have done PC on the other Princess ships how was it??? OH well, its vacation and I am NOT going to let it get to me. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Kristen -
You would be the third person I know named Kristen from CT ... fun!
I had PC on the Dawn in April and there were 2 in our party, and every night we just sat wherever the Maitre d' felt like putting us, so there was no wait. I had fun meeting all the new people and the change of waiters was actually a benefit. On night 3 we repeated our servers from night 1 and they were not good the second time around. I was pleased that toward the end of the crusise the PC servers did not turn off the charm just because they knew we wouldn't site with them more than once.
If you want a smaller table for a night or two, go ahead and make a reservation. It won't hurt anything.

166 means no tradtional, which in my opinion isn't so much a bad thing but a chance to learn a new trick. We had our first PC 2 weeks ago and immediately booked 3 more.

When I checked our cruise personalizer I noticed that we were listed as traditional and we wanted PC so we had our TA change that today. Hope that helped someone out. we are going on the Caribbean Princess 9/25

My husband and I had second seating for the Golden Princess 5/22. We had a couple at our table that was wait-listed #117 and had no problem. Also--about 20 percent of the dining was empty every night. We had one couple we had met from their 6-empty seat table of 8 to ours as we had 2 never show up.
I don't think there will be a problem.
However, based on the show schedule, I would probably go to PC dining next cruise. Missed out on too much of the entertainment having late seating.

We were waitlisted at 75 about 2 months out from our sail date (the inaugural) and were confirmed for tradtional 3-4 weeks later (our TA had set us up for PC without asking, so I called to correct it). This far out, you may not have a problem. We jumped 50 spots in 2 days. Once the payment deadline hits, you'll really see the numbers move. And as the date gets closer, people will change their mind. Just in case tho, if you don't get traditional, follow the PC dining tips that have been posted and try out the other dining opportunities. This ship has some great options!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Our TA made an error and put us on the early dining list. We requested late traditional dining. Well, we are now waitlisted (244) and I don't mind a bit. I think I'll like the idea of having different table mates each night in PC dining. We'll still be able to eat late and will have the opportunity to visit the Caribe Cafe, Sabatini's and the Sterling Steakhouse. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Just being on a cruise is enough for me. Why sweat the small stuff! We sail on the Caribbean Princess on July 3rd.

hi Seaya....
We are also on the 6/26 sailing...my family of four.
When we booked in Feb (I think) we were in the 70s and moved up really fast to 5-6-7-8. But now have sat there for two months. Who knows? but with my small numbers, I am hopeful. I will hope you also get what you want!

We moved up 17 spots last night. Our TA says she thinks we'll still get in, even though we started clear down at 167. She said past passengers have status and her agency does too, when it comes to the list. But...if not, that same table, same time, works the same way I guess. The good thing if we don't get in...is that we could schedule a little earlier time so that the kids could get to their "fun zone" activities earlier.

We are also on CP 9/11/04, and have PC dinning. We tryed it what it is first was available. Loved it. The only time people were waiting is when they wanted small tables or table for 2. We liked to meet different people every night - it was a lot of fun. Never waited longer than 10 minutes. Don't panic. Have a great cruise.
