Hi all,
can anyone speak to how early you could book a flight leaving LAX returning home? 11am, noon, 1pm etc. how long do you need to schedule so that you won't miss your flight becasue you are in lines for customs etc?

We were scheduled to arrive at 10:30 AM in LAX and depart at 12:44 PM. We were in 1st class, and the first ones off the plane. All went smoothly in customs, immigration, bag re-check and changing terminals and we had 30 minutes or so to spare before boarding. I wouldn't connect with less than 2 hours between flights.

We have a flight leaving LAX, leaving the beginning of Jan. 2005. Made it for 1:00PM, so we would have time getting off the ship, & making it through traffic.

You can book 1 safely, before if you like to worry, you will probably wait some but that is better than panicking.

We had a 1:15 flight with e-ticket check-in for boarding passes for the next flight and made it with time to spare. Our daughter had a 1:20 flight with paper ticket check-in for boarding passes and they held the plane for them. The lines were hours long to get boarding passes. We arrived about 10:20.

But how will you know what time your flight will arrive back from Papeete until you get your flights from Princess? Are there only one or two that return that morning? Shows how much research I have NOT done. lol

So all are suggesting that booking flights anytime past noon, but preferrably around 1:00 or after is the best bet then?

We booked our 12:45 pm flight on Alaska Airlines. There is usually not a long line for Alaska, as they only operate out of a couple of gates at LAX. I am sure we'll be off the Island Princess and at the airport with time to spare.
Have fun!
