View Full Version : Is Princess OK with "carry-On" Soda?
laginog

My DH is an avid Diet Pepsi, Anti-Coke drinker! Is Princess OK with us just carrying on a case of Pepsi or do we have to "hide it" in the luggage? We've only cruised Princess one other time and that was an Alaska cruisetour, so we just had a couple of cans in the luggage. This time, I'd like to just pick up a case before we catch the shuttle to the ship. That is, if it's not against their policy.

Ok but what about beer and wine?
Can we bring whole, unopened cases of beer and wine on board?
I thought I might have seen something about that but I can't say for sure

There are still plenty of cabins available on the Star's 10/24/04 sailing, her first in this Caribbean series.
Sue- I am about to go to a garage sale and find the biggest boom box I can to play the immortal Jack Jones singing that darn song when we sail away if I don't start seeing some reports of this happening.

I wanna go, sure.. but I don't do FL airports... more accurately I don't do the flights from them to here. I wear a 56 jacket and am barrel chested the days of wedging myself into a folded position for a 6 hour flight are pretty much over.
And besides... I sail Diamond in 9 days, I know I will be booking at least 2 more open cruises while aboard, used my only two up already, I may be going for that Diamond flush by sailing her again this Summer before my NOV-DEC Back to Back.

You know the darn thing about it is that I will sit here and read all about how it's ok to bring this stuff on board, just walk right on with it.
Then I'll chicken out, pack some in our luggage and pay ridiculous prices for beverages I don't really like.
Maybe not
Maybe this time I will throw all caution to the wind, be a rebel and just strut right on in with it.

I have to admit, i started bringing stuff on long ago, before I even had a clue if might not be acceptable. Never had any fear of anyone taking it from me. Just never crossed my mind. I guess ignorance is bliss!!!
Two years ago on the Golden Princess, we were coming back from shore, I was drinking a beer and our friends were carrying a six pack, just by the handle. Everything had to go thru the scanner. The "workers" just looked the other way and remarked they didn't see a thing!!!
I can see some of the alcohol limmitations.... but soda!!!???
I can see the news now. Cruise Ship passengers arrested trying to bring Pepsi on Board. The Pepsi Corporation has paid their bail and has retained a lawyer to represent them. Details & Pictures to follow...

Good to know this cruise line has a similar policy to CCL.
I usually carry on beer in a book bag with wine and never get hasseled. I plan on doing the same on Princess for our honeymoon.
I just don't see paying $13 for 4 beers!

As far as airlines go-----This past Sunday pm I used a 3 pack cardboard wine carrier as one of my carry-ons. I was at a winery in Indiana (yes I said Indiana!) and I purchased it there to bring on our cruise in 8 days, no problem with the airlines and I'm hoping to carry it on the cruise.
