Question for those who have cruised the round trip to Hawaii and back. Any trouble with sea sickness with so much of the trip through open water? Thanks!

I did the RT Hawaii last December and it was pretty bumpy. I never felt ill at all but my dad who was on his 8th cruise got pretty sick. He'd never really gotten seasick before but the swells were pretty big the whole time. He was given the seasickness shot while on board and it really helped.

Even on a calm sea there's always a swell on the Pacific.
There's a difference between rough seas and a swell.

The swells on our cruise at least were enough to open and close our drawers. A few days the pools were closed because the water was sloshing in out so much but it was December, it might be calmer other times of the year.

The Regal is very stable in rough seas but you're in the Pacific, sailing through the Japanese current. It's going to be rough at least a few of the days.

Personally, I enjoy the rock'n and roll'n and had no problem with it. One of our tablemates didn't feel well the first night and we recommended that she make sure she ate something, small portions at a time, during the day and evening. She said the next night that worked -- she was feeling much better.

My recommendation, if you're prone to seasickness, is to get a cabin on a lower deck in the middle.
