Marilyn - in the past, the prices and dates are available before brochures.
I have heard (but not from anyone official) that the brochures won't be out until September.

Coral I am so excited to hear the news. We decided to cancel our RCCL Radiance of the Sea reservation for Alaska 2005 and are going to book the Princess Diamond instead. Thank you for taking care of us. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Coral, thank you for posting that link. Please don't tell me that they're going to allow Cruisetours to book before Cruise Only!! I have my heart set on a certain cabin and have been calling everyday to see if the rates are out yet!! If so, is this a common practice? I know those doing the Cruisetours are spending a great deal of $$$..but I shouldn't be punished for not being able to take 2 weeks off from work. Am I whining ??? (Cheese, anyone?)

Lynda - I found the comment very interesting in the press release which said the "Gulf of Alaska cruises would be available for booking" - it is like they purposely said "only these cruises would be available on this date. I guess it is a wait and see game.

Coral - It seems odd that they wouldn't post all of the Alaska info at the same time. Hopefully, it will all be available soon. I've been checking every day as I know a lot of people have. Just a waiting game.

Last year the Gulf of Alaska cruises were available several weeks before the Inside Passage ones. I talked with an agent today about when the Gulf of Alaska cruise pricing would be out...she said by the end of June.
When I mentioned that I thought it would be earlier...she said "well, maybe by the end of this month". Wow...this board certainly keeps us up to date. I wonder what time the press releases came out?...and if they notify their agents first!! Thanks for all the help.

I called Princess today to find out if prices were available for the Alaska 2005 itineraries. Rep. had sailing dates, but no prices. She suggested I check back around the end of the month.

Hi -
1st - thank you Coral!!
2nd - Italy52 - did you get dates for just cruises or for cruisetours also, I was referred to PrincessTours and the rep said they didn't even have dates yet - yes, yes I am anxious (still on PCD from April cruise...)
Thank you!

igloo42--
When I talked with the Princess representative, I was just concerned with sailing dates, not cruisetours for August 2005. Sorry I can't be of more help to you. I know how you feel, the wait is killing me. I called my TA today and turned all my requests over to her. I feel like I'm at the Kentucky Derby awaiting the start of the horse race. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Good luck with your planning.

Italy52 - thanks for the update - the Preakness is distracting me slightly but there is nothing like cruising...you would never know I have a cruise planned for the Star in Nov (LOL)!

I know that I have to wait until August of next year to go, but I've been home a whole three weeks from the Dawn Princess and I am ready to leave today for another Princess cruise! The waiting and planning is half the fun!

We are checking rates right now for Official CC Group Cruise to Alaska ...probably northbound cruise on Island/Coral/Dawn or Sun and with optional post-cruise maximum McKinley tour. With new train service from Whittier this will be a great way to save some time.

Caroline,
What date are you looking at for for the CC cruise? As soon as the rates are out today, I am going to book northbound on the Coral for July 30.
Thanks,
Cathy

When I called Princess the other day, the rep. indicated that the Regal was indeed sailing to Alaska from San Francisco in 2005.

Yep, I confirmed as well (as I look every day in the booking system when I get up), it is not yet open for booking. There is always hope for tomorrow.....
Just to follow up on what Coral said.. I remember this from last year. The Gulf of Alaska north/south cruises came open first, and the RT Seattle ones followed later.
Italy.. when looking at 2005, remember to look at Sapphire as well as Diamond if you want RT Seattle. This year I think the Sapphire itinerary on Sundays is WAY better than the Diamond one on Saturdays. The ships are identical.
My rep said the pricing and booking wouldn't be available until closer to the end of the month. Here is hoping she is wrong!
Cheers!

I just phoned Princess and no summer 2005 rates -- but the rep did point out that they today added May 2005 transitionals from the west coast to Alaska if anyone is looking for those.
