He is the vendor/developer for that particular clock. Please remember, he is doing this as a courtesy and it is greatly appreciated. Just another fine example of what nice Cruise Critic members we have!!

Am I posting that clock website wrong?...
I am not quite sure what your posting is telling us. Is it alright the way I show it or should I change it to the way you wrote it?...
Thank you for your kind words! I am soooo sorry my previous post has caused confusion for you!

You did not post the clock website wrong. It is alright the way you show it. You do not need to change it to the way I wrote it. At this time, you just need to show both. I was trying to let you know the odometer-style countdown clock now hosted by our fellow Cruise Critic member Dave (dmfriedman) can be set-up using http://*************************/ as well as http://www.echlforums.com/clock.htm.

Something I just noticed concerns the following:

...http://www.echlforums.com/clock.htm (This is the one I use)

With this one I use the BB code, not the HTML code. Paste it into your signature box...
You do need to change something there. Look at the set-up screen. There is no place where a choice needs to be made between BB code or HTML code. All a member has to do once they have filled in their information is to click the Generate a clock for CruiseCritic! button.

Another fellow Cruise Critic member Frank (fbrunetti) was the last to previously host the odometer-style countdown clock. The others are mentioned in my thread title F.Y.I. re escati/geocities/quietman/echlforums & now... Ta Daa! Traveldave.us clock. Frank had to shut down the clock due to a company takeover. Dave volunteered to host the clock to keep it going. The two got together and made it where both sites went to Dave's server. Therefore, when you tell someone about the link to set up that particular style of clock, you can mention both sites. They go to the same server. If you click on both links, you will see the same clock set-up page.

I do not know if you know all the history regarding the situation. If you are interested, there are a couple of posts containing information that may catch you up. Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=10037116&postcount=255 and then here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=10047098&postcount=256.

http://skins.hotbar.com/skins/mailskins/em/082502/082502btw_prv.gif (http://hotbar.com/scripts/utils/banner.asp?InstallDURL=des:en/emoticons1&requestor=shn233), Deltablue quoted a portion of a post I made waaaay back on 04/06/07 around the time the disappearing CC Countdown Clock situation first "reared its ugly head". At that time I could see the disappearing CC Countdown Clocks, but cannot now. Also, the info I gave in April was NOT a solution to the CC Countdown Clock situation. Clearing your Temporary Internet files, History and Cookies does help with some situations, just not that one.

I sincerely hope this information will be satisfactory and I did not confuse you even more!
Kathttp://skins.hotbar.com/skins/mailskins/em/020105/020105_emYA15_prv.gif (http://hotbar.com/scripts/utils/banner.asp?InstallDURL=des:en/emoticons1&requestor=shn233)

Just thought you might like to know, it does not always say "Caribbean Search Directory". There are various other sayings they put in there too. I know, 'cause I go into signatures any time I see them and remove them. Apparently, the member did not read or do what Laura says in her Sticky thread that follows:
Folks:

Many of you are using a nifty little countdown available from a caribbean magazine type website.

When copying the CODE from the box, PLEASE only copy the FIRST URL encased in the first set of brackets!

DO NOT COPY AND PASTE THE LAST LINK....

Laura

As I say sooooo often... just trying to help...

This is from LibertyBelle and is the RCCL recipe that was posted a while back

Strawberry soup.

1pint (150G) Fresh Rasberries (gently washed)
1pint (150g) Fresh Strawberries (gently washed and trimmed)
2 cups (500ml) sour cream
1cup (250ml) whole milk
1cup (250ml) Ginger ale
1/4 cup (60g) Granulated Sugar
2 tablespoons triple sec ( Triple Sec ia an alcohol... It is a very refined, white curacao and tends to be very sweet.)
2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
Fresh Mint leaves (for Garnish)

1. Reserve 6 of the strawberries and 12 of the raspberries for garnish. In a blender or food processor combine the remaining berries and puree until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine seive over a nonreactive bowl, pushing through as much of the pulp as you can, leaving the seeds behind.

2. Whisk the remaining ingredients, except the reserved berries and mint, into a puree. Cover and refrigerate until cold. To serve, divide the soup among chilled soup bowls and garnish with the reserved berried and mint leaves.
We made it one time and while it was not exactlly perfect it was really good. Can't wait to sail again just to have it.

Concerning the "caribbean type" countdown clock, please read Laura's 08/31/07 Announcement at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/announcement.php?f=225&a=123.

**Special Info Regarding "Countdown" Clocks

Over the past few months we've noticed a few irregularities when visiting various pages on a certain "caribbean type" website. These irregularities were brought to my attention by our members. It does turn out there are a few items that cause me concern.

For example, there are links on that site that do not take you to where you would ASSUME you are going. What I mean is...on some pages on the site the link will be titled Forums, for example, and that is exactly where the link takes you. In other places, the same named link DOES NOT. It takes you elsewhere, where auto-downloads to your computer -- in the form of advertising etc. -- may take place. I have been able to recreate this three different times, and during one of those times the download appeared to be a program that "searches and corrects" your computer's window registries.

I'm almost positive that the above has nothing to do with utilizing their "countdown" on the boards. However, in light of our mission to provide the safest experience for our members, we will no longer be allowing linking to their countdown tickers on our message boards.

As you know, in accordance with our Community Guidelines Cruise Critic may or may not allow links to other websites on a case-by-case basis.

Effective September 1st, we will block the url from appearing on our forums. Any countdown clock utilizing that url will appear as a "red X" on your posts.

We would love if you would utilize Cruise Critic's own countdown clock; but it isn't a requirement. There are many other countdown tickers located out there...just browse around the boards to check out what others are using....I'm sure you'll find one to your liking.

If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please write to me at community@cruisecritic.com.

If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please write to me at community@cruisecritic.com.

Right under that you will see USER CP on the left
Click on that. When it opens click on EDIT SIGNATURE.
Paste your clock in the box. Click on PREVIEW POST. If it looks right, click on SAVE SIGNATURE.

What? You never heard of the e-mails due to thread subscriptions?

From FAQ (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php):

What is email notification?

If you post a new thread, or reply to an existing thread, you can choose to be notified by email when someone else replies to that thread. You can also choose to receive email notifications of new posts in a thread without posting in that thread, by clicking the 'Subscribe to this thread' link displayed in the thread page.

If you choose to stop receiving email notifications from a thread, you can turn off the option by either editing your post, or by unsubscribing from the thread here.

Only registered users may receive email notification, and they can set whether they want to receive email notification by default by editing their options.

Email notification is also referred to as 'Thread Subscription'.

I have my Automatic Thread Subscription Mode set as Instant email notification. Since you have your Automatic Thread Subscription Mode set as Do not subscribe, you might want to investigate User CP --> Edit Options --> Messaging & Notification --> Default Thread Subscription Mode.

To see the code:

Go to Edit Signature; click the icon above and to the right of the text entry box that looks like this: A/A
That will allow you to edit or delete any of the signature code.

Denb, how did you get the Cruisecritic clocks to be side-by-side? I've been trying to do that for a while, but with no success.

Just go into the code (see post #92) and remove the 'newline' character from between them. It looks like a blank space. (i.e. set cursor at the beginning of the second set of code and press backspace, then do the same for between third and fourth, etc.) Actually, I think you can do it without even going into the code.

4. www.ucruiser.com (http://<b>www.ucruiser.com</b>) Go through the four easy steps and highlight and copy the second box down then paste it into your signature box.
This is what you will see:
PseudoHTML, UBBCode or BBCode
Use for Cruisecritic.com and similar board signatures
Used on many message boards that don't allow HTML.

5. Here is the one I now have. (Not anymore)
It is really easy to do.

OLD LINKhttp://www.nauticalcities.com/tickers.php (http://<b>http://www.nauticalcities.com/tickers.php</b>) This Clock says it has a broken Link. Let's fix that.
This is the new link below. All they want you to do is sign in now and they will explain why. It is still free.
http://www.nauticalcities.com/tickers.php

Once you have a clock picked out and have copied the code.
To get to your signature box, go to the top of the page where it says "Cruise Critic Message Boards.
Right under that you will see USER CP on the left
Click on that. When it opens click on EDIT SIGNATURE.
Paste your clock in the box. Click on PREVIEW POST. If it looks right, click on SAVE SIGNATURE.

Have fun trying them.

Hi, bringing down the clocks
5 clocks to try.
Update on 5 clocks

1. The Cruise Critic Countdown Clocks

So easy to do, and all on one page. Put in all the information you want, create your code and copy and paste.
Just go to the top of the page and click on Countdown Clocks.

2.This clock below has two links. They will link to the same form, with the same results. I use this type.
http://www.echlforums.com/clock.htm (http://www.echlforums.com/clock.htm)
http://*************************/ (http://*************************/)
With this one it will say, "Generate Clock for CruiseCritic!" Copy and paste it into your signature box..

3.New Link http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticke...r_designer.php (http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/ticker_designer.php)
When done with each step, copy the bb code and paste it into your signature box..

4. New Link http://www.ucruiser.com/ticker/ (http://www.ucruiser.com/ticker/)
Go through the four easy steps and highlight and copy the second box down then paste it into your signature box.
This is what you will see:
PseudoHTML, UBBCode or BBCode
Use for Cruisecritic.com and similar board signatures
Used on many message boards that don't allow HTML.

5. This one is really easy to do.
All they want you to do is sign in now and they will explain why. It is still free.
New Link http://www.nauticalcities.com/tickers.php (http://www.nauticalcities.com/tickers.php)

Once you have a clock picked out and have copied the code.
To get to your signature box, go to the top of the page where it says "Cruise Critic Message Boards.
Right under that you will see USER CP on the left
Click on that. When it opens click on EDIT SIGNATURE.
Paste your clock in the second box down. Click on PREVIEW POST. If it looks right, click on SAVE SIGNATURE.

Have fun trying them.

Alexis where are you?????

I sailed my two weeks so I am finished with the "sleep nights". I met the adorable little Kaila and family on board the AOS and it was worth every single little creature I posted for her.
She was a beautiful little 4 year old doll.
Now I am just back to clocks and DryDocks.
Have a great Holiday. :D

She was a little doll sailing with her Great Mom and her wonderful Grandparents. :)
I could not have found a nicer family on that ship.

Yes, I have been away from the boards for some time now.
A few surgeries and things kept me away for quite awhile.
I did get to do my two week Dec. cruise though and on return,

Not just yet, but I am trying my best to get 100% better. Planning on a cruise next Dec. and we are going to be on it for sure. :D
One hits a certain age and all of the parts need replacing. ;) I am lucky mine have lasted this long. :D
