View Full Version : A little confused -- is one of the pools on Golden covered?

I am trying to figure out the layout of the ship before we get on board (someone on here told me to study the layout first so I am listening to them). It looks like one of the pools is covered. Is this true? Seems kinda strange to have a covered pool when you are in the Caribbean trying to get some sun.
Can someone please clear this up for me.
Thanks

Yes, the Neptune pool is covered by a retractable roof. They open it when the weather is good.
On Caribbean Princess, there is no roof, because you're right, the weather in the Caribbean should be fairly nice year round.
Caribbean Princess was built specifically for their Caribbean itineraries.

Yes Gina- the Conservatory which houses that pool has a retractable roof. On our Golden cruise they did indeed us that roof too.
I think it's one of the nicest public spaces on the ship and spend a lot of time there. Really comfortable hairs on the upper level around the sides are great for reading or just relaxing

There were very few children in that area to get in your hair!

Gina, don't forget that the Golden doesn't sail just in the Caribbean. It was designed for itineraries as varied as New England and Europe and I can tell you that it can be pretty darn cool in the Atlantic off the NE coast, even in the summer. Example: yesterday, it was in the 80s in New Hampshire and 47 here on the coast because of the ocean onshore breeze.
