What to avoid? What level,position-aft or mid-ship....inside,balcony,stateroom.Upgrades-possible?

For us, the best cabin is midships and as low as possible. My husband has a tendency towards motion sickness, and that's where he feels the movement the least.

I'm not sure. According to his profile, he is a very senior citizen, and has started several threads on this forum.
Perhaps he should have lumped all his questions into one thread, rather than starting three or four.

As much as I liked the upgrade to a penthouse suite, we were right under the pool area. The scraping of the chairs and general maintenance of that area was an irritation.

Well, I'll give my opinion on cabins.
We were on Oceania's Regatta into the Baltic, 8-05, in a standard outside cabin, #4031 (midship), and thought it fine. On that trip, sis-in-law & hubby were up on deck 6, forward, and complained of anchor noise and thruster vibration when entering and leaving ports.
We were on Pacific Princess (new), a sister ship, Papeete to Sydney, 11-03, in 6051, a standard balcony (midship).
We are booked on Oceania's Nautica, 11-06, Istanbul to Singapore, via the Suez, in a standard outside, #4032 (midship).
We are not of the mind-set that a balcony is a necessity - nice to have, but not required.
Good luck on your cabin choice.
We look for cabins midship, as generally motion (pitching and rolling) is less than being fore or aft.

F11 - a couple of questions.
I suppose at the time of the skinny dipping episode, you were recovering from your "TRANSAMERICA" type surgery? Perhaps you will find Oceania's salt-water pool comforting.

Put me in with the rest of the skeptics. In watching the speech patterns and idioms used by F11, I personally believe that our community leg is being pulled. You want a profile that says I have a doctorate in nuclear engineering? Hold on - wait a minute! [sounds of furious typing] There!
His or her multitudinous threads and posts don't add up. Is there a bored college student out there?!!!!!

Let's give this person a wide berth - who knows what his or her or whatumacallits intent is - - -
Just ignore these stupid postings and perhaps they'll dry up and blow away.....

F11 -- You asked on another post for another cruise line about Siberia as a destination. Would you like to be banished to that venue? I believe so - the edict has been issued.

Posted and seems to have gotten lost so if this posts 2 times sorry guys..
You are pulling our land legs aren't ya F11?
in any event..the very LAST thing I ever want to see is someone skinny dippin' on any Oceania ship that I am on..esp. a 91 year old person  who is not sure if he is a man or a woman and if his wife? is 85 or 55 and if you can't remember either of those things why worry about what type and location of cabin you might want...you probably won't remember what it looks like or where it is anyways..,:D

Hi Sheila
Not Claudia, obviously, nor am I a 120-year old hermaphrodite or whatever F11 claims to be today.
However,
ROFLMAO = Rolling On the Floor Laughing My Ass Off
Have a great weekend....

F11,
I think you were asking whether at age 91 you still have to pay the corkage fee? Perhaps there is a very very senior discount or even a waiver. Does anyone know?
Cordially,
Father William
("you are old Father William the young man said . . . " --- and yet you incessantly stand on your head -- or is it skinny dip -- "do you think at your age it is right?")
