I am getting ready to book an eastern caribbean cruise in Nov. Itineries are the same except one goes to St. Martin and the other goes to St. Thomas. Any suggestions.....
Thanks!

These two ships are sister ships, Zuiderdam being older than the Westerdam. Either itinerary is excellent, but I just prefer to shop in St. Thomas, for that reason only I would choose the Zuiderdam.

I was thinking the same thing. Now my next question I am debating about booking a catagory SS. I am worried because it looks like it is below the pool area. We were there on another ship. (Not Holland) and there was a lot of noise of chairs being scooted around the deck. Has anyone experienced this in an SS cabin?

I also forgot to ask... We will be traveling with another couple, can the balconies be opened up so we can enjoy each others company on the adjoining balcony?
Thanks so much.

Yes, there is a part of the partition that can be opened between the balconies. Just ask your room steward to unlock it so it can be opened up.
I have not had an SS category cabin so I can't answer that question for you.

I would choose the Zuiderdam with the stop in St. Marten. Take a cab to the French side of the island, to the ferry that takes you to Pinel Island. I think the ferry stop is Cul du Sac. It is a wonderful way to spend the day. When I did this a couple of years ago, there were not many tourists there and it was beautiful.

The Zuiderdam is stopping in St. Thomas, I think you meant to say the Westerdam, which stops in St. Maarten.

Thank you for catching my mistake.
