Has anyone had any luck getting an upgrade when they have booked a quad-cabin ? I know Princess assigns a cabin number for all quads. Our TA has let Princess know we are receptive to an upgrade. My wife and I are in a balcony and the quad is for our kids first cruise. I would be excited for them if they got at least an obstructed view cabin. Thanks steve

Hi Steve. It will depend if the catagories above are sold out. The ship is selling really good. If someone wants a quad and are willing to pay alot for it, it is possible for an upgrade. If the ones above are sold out, they will stay there. 23 fridays!! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Quads are rare, so replacing them is rare, you would have to be offered a full suite, something that could happen but I would REALLY not count on it or even seriously entertain the hope. Upgraade hopes are the number one cause of "oh well, sigh" on sail away day.

We always book a quad and squish us and our two teenagers in together. In 6 cruises with Princess, we have only once been offered an upgrade and it was just to a different deck. We didn't take it. I really wouldn't count on it either.

I had an inside quad booked for my kids also and got an upgrade of two rooms instead of one and they could of been outside rooms with a window but my kids didn't care about a window so we got $216.00 dollars back. My husband and I also got an upgrade from a balcony to a mini-suit,this is our first time cruising...I'll be happy with anything as long as I don't get sick!

On our second cruise with Princess, we were upgraded from a BE to a BC quad. I am booked for a BD quad in August, and still no sign of a room change, but the ship is full, so I doubt there will be one.
