We are on the Rotterdam Baltic Cruise at the end of July....have a friend in Stockholm meeting us and want to double check which port we come into...she says that most ships come to Vartahamnen but some come in at another port.
Appreciate your help.

If you are on the July 28 sailing from Harwich, I believe we will be
docking here, from what I have learned. It is a little further from
city centre than where MS Amsterdam will be. Here I thought Rotterdam
was the FLAGSHIP.
By the way, we have a roll-call going if you would care to join us on it.

When we were there last August, the Rotterdam docked at Stadsgarden pier on Sodermalm near the Viking Line terminal. The Prinsendam was in Stockholm that same day and took a different, more northern, route into the city. Never did see where she docked. Best to check with HAL if you want to be sure! Have a great cruise!

According to stockholmcruise.com, the Rotterdam will berth at STADSGÅRDEN 167 (http://www.stockholmcruise.com/templates/berthplace____226.aspx) on 7/22/06 and
FRIHAMNEN 634 (http://www.stockholmcruise.com/templates/BerthPlace____227.aspx) on 8/7/06.
But that could always change.

My guess is that she will indeed dock at Statsgården, seeing as that is where we docked last year.
If you do not mind walking, it is not far from the city centre.
I absolutely adore Stockholm! On a sunny summer day, it is just heavenly.
Then again, I love the whole Baltic region... This is a great trip. Wonderful itinerary and the ROTTERDAM is a superb ship.
If you can, stay a few days in Copenhagen afterwards. Like Stockholm, I love the place!
If you have not seen it already, you might want to see my review (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=233863) of this cruise from last summer. It was great; maybe the best cruise I've ever taken.
Incidentally, someone mentioned ROTTERDAM being the "flagship"... This is true, but so is AMSTERDAM. They're "joint flagships". I have not been aboard AMSTERDAM but I'm sure she's lovely too.
