We will be doing a land/cruise tour to Alaska in June. Planning is complete for all our excursions, but I still would like to plan our on-board experience. Is there anyway to find out what menu will be offered on each night on the 7 day cruise? We like to eat in one of the specialty restaurants, but don't like to miss our favorite menus. Is it the same for all cruises?

When are you going? My husband and I will be on the Alaska Cruisetour (Island Princess) beginning with the cruise on June 12th.
I, too, am looking for any info. I can get regarding the Island. It seems there hasn't been much to say about it on these boards.

This board has two very recent reviews of the Island from the May 12th coastal trip LA-to-Vancouver. The older one is by me!
Since it was a 3 day cruise, I can't offer much info on the sequence of menus. But the desire to eat at the alternative restaurants is a good one- DO NOT MISS SABATINI'S!!
Other specific questions will be answered by me and the many others who have sailed on this gorgeous ship. Rest assured- you have made a great choice!

Here are some menus posted by someone else awhile ago. We have found menus are the same on all ships and very little change over the last few years. For cruises of more than 7 days, additional daily menus are added.

hrob, Thanks so much for the menu page. I just finished dinner, but now I'm hungry again.
saxy girl, I believe that you will be bringing us the ship, so be kind to her. We fly into Fairbanks on June 14th and board the Island on the 19th. Have fun!

Thanks from me, too, hrob! Do you remember which nights were formal nights on the Island Princess?

When we were on the Island in March formal nights were 2nd and 8th (10 day cruise). If I can remember correctly - on our 7 days on the Grand it was nights 2 and 6.
Just got off the Island on Saturday (3 day repositioning) and she is my favorite ship so far. My daughter is a dancer on the Island and she called last night to say that it is absolutely beautiful in Alaska. The sun is out and even though it is cool out, there is nothing but amazing beauty up there!! She has been to the Caribbean, to the Panama, Mexican Riviera, and she said nothing compares.
So not only have you picked a great part of the country to cruise but also an amazing ship to see it all. Have a great time!!! ( I am so jealous !)

Joanne,
Is your daughter's name Laura? I ran into a dancer named Laura outside the Photo Shop...
Glad to hear she's enjoying ALaska!

Menu ordering and formal nights are itinerary dependent. In other words, what nights were formal nights on ship A in the Caribbean means nothing about what nights will be formal nights on ship A in Alaska.
As a general rule, almost all ships have formal nights on the 2nd and next-to-last night. Changes are almost always the result of a port call that extends into the dinner hour on what would normally be a formal night. The last I knew (and true for years and years), all Princess ships doing seven-day one-way cruises between Vancouver and Alaska have nights 2 and 6 as formal nights northbound and nights 2 and 5 as formal nights southbound (the reason for night 5 instead of night 6 southbound is the port call at Ketchikan).
