The following link is about checking bags at terminal 30. Doesn't sound great.

Doesn't sound that bad either, but it does sound slow, best not to bring a ton of luggage you personally can't "lug".

Are you allowed to bring anything you can 'lug' aboard yourself. I have full size suitcases with wheels. Will they require me to check them or can I bring anything on myself that I can carry.

I know that you have to be able to put what you are carrying on through the airport style screening machines, I doubt they will let you put full sized through it. My bet is on checking normally checked items.

Personally I am not bothered by the fact that you can't check at the curb, what would prevent a bad guy from dropping off something nasty and leaving?

What I meant about not bringing a ton of luggage is that I see some people with 8 or 9 bags in a huge awkward pile, how could you drag that through a terminal to a check in location? Even if they are on wheels you can't tow 5 bags with 2 hands.

I can appreciate the security situation but I am worried about getting everything done by myself. If I have my mom in wheelchair, I will have her two bags and my own two plus one carry-on and my purse. Yikes, I wonder if they will have someone to help???

When we were there last summer, porters were available to assist passengers with large bags. We ended up wheeling ours over to the place they screen them. We carried our carry-on bags and box of wine (six bottles of wine) through the passenger security line. The X-ray there is like at an airport. It's not large enough to take a full-size piece of luggage.
