Has anyone flown Horizon Airlines from Canada to Seattle? We are flying to a conference in Edmonton and visit with friends. We are flying from Edmonton to Seattle in August on Horizon Airlines and wanted to know if anyone has had any problems with the airline especially in the area of cancellations and delays?

Yancey....
I work for Horizon, so I'm not exactly objective. But here are the facts:
Horizon is applying to the Department of Transportation to have our operational performance reported nationwide along with the big airlines. Why? Well, for example, our on-time perfomance in March ranks 2nd nationwide. Our lost baggage perfomance for March ranks number one for fewest bags mishandled. BTW, we operate more than 500 flights a day.
Horizon also frequently makes the top 5 for airlines favored by Conde Naste readers, both for business and pleasure travel.
Plus, our safety record is phenomenal.... several MILLION takeoffs and landings without a single fatality.
Of course, there are never guarantees. Delays and cancellations can happen at anytime. I would not take our airline, or any other airline, to an embarkation port on the day of departure.
I hope you have a good flight. Be sure to enjoy one of our complimentary Northwest microbrews or wines!

Although smaller aircraft, Horizon Air is a fabulous airline! I've had nothing but fabulous flights on them with some of the best snacks ever. Like the previous poster stated, there are never guarantees with regards to cancellations/delays, but Horizon has massive activity out of the Seattle airport. Allow yourself enough time, but odds are you will be just fine.

I've flown Horizon 4 times from California to Medford, Oregon and never had any problems. They were on time, never had lost luggage problems and they served great snacks too! ;-)
I was very satisfied.

I have flown Horizon hundreds of times and almost every experience has been excellent. I wish all the airlines performed as well as Horizon. You'll be very pleased with your experience.

Like other posters, I fly Horizon A LOT, and it's a great airline. It's majority owned by Alaska Airlines, which also has a very good reputation.
The only times I've ever dealt with delays or cancellations have been due to weather, and usually that's at some of the itty bitty airports they fly into. Be advised, Seattle does sometimes have weather related delays (usually has to be exceptionally dense ground fog, or very, very rare snow/ice). If that happens, worse case, you are often diverted to Portland, which is a 2-1/2 hour drive away.

Thanks Rick and all other posters for putting me at ease about Horizon. I had never heard of it. We have always flown Delta down here.
We are looking forward to our flight and cruise in August.
