Did anyone ever post which dinners were on which nights? I know where the menus are posted, but they were necessarily in order.

I'm curious too on the order of the themed dinners on each night of the Eastern itinerary on the Caribbean Princess.

Thanks meyerhaus, but call me ignorant. I can't see where the "dinner being served" is anywhere on the Patters, nor are the menus in order, as admitted by yensid1071.

Has anybody mentioned that French night has been replaced by Caribbean night, which means to creme brulee lovers that the raspberry creme brulee is no more nor the escargot. There is pineapple creme brulee but it isn't quite as good IMHO. I'm sorry, but I don't have a good enough memory to remember which menus were for which nights and didn't get copies of the menus.

Hi. There was a thread on this topic a few weeks ago that never really reached a final conclusion. One past CP cruiser said that he was pretty sure the menu order for the eastern caribbean itinerary was:
Saturday: Sailaway
Sunday (formal #1): Captain's welcome
Monday: Italian
Tuesday: Chef's
Wednesday: Caribbean
Thursday (formal #2): Captain's gala
Friday: Landfall
I believe that we are reasonably certain of the nights for landfall, sailaway, captain's welcome, and captain's gala. However, the nights for the italian, chef's, and caribbean menus are a matter of debate. For instance, I clearly remember a review in which Italian night was associated with Tuesday.
If anyone can help clarify the correct order, please help us by posting a response. Thank you.

This was mostly correct on 5/22-5/29 and there was Escargot on the 2nd formal. I flipped the Caribbean and the Chef's dinners around.

Bill:
The Caribbean Dinner is St. Thomas and the Chef's Dinner is St. Martin. This is the way it was last week 5/22-5/29.
Our anniversay was May 25, St. Thomas day. We had brought a bottle of wine from home to have with dinner in the dining room. On seeing that St. Thomas was Caribbean night on board, we opted to dine in Cafe Caribe and didn't take our wine to dinner with us. We ended up bringing our bottle of wine home.
All the best!

Wow, what a great treat to see the menu ahead of time. Some of the food listed I have never heard of. Some of the "Cellar Master Selections" sound interesting.
Stupid question? Those are suggested for drinking with the meal and not afterwards?
Thanks again for the menus.

They're on a Western now - I bumped it in case anyone at the Internet Cafe was monitoring. I did put in a request for the info at their Roll Call. Maybe someone will get it to us.

Is there anyone who actually ate in the dining room on Caribbean night? If so, what did you think? If you had to pick one night to miss, to do alternative dining, what would you choose?
Thanks!

gaa2,
Yes, we did eat in the dining room on Caribbean night last week 5/25/04. But not intentionally. We thought Tuesday was the Chef's night menu according to prior info we had. But they (Princess) switched the two nights on us.
We're not big on Caribbean style cooking so we all (my wife, two teens, and myself) ordered from the alternative menu selections. I had the sirloin steak and it was not bad at all. It was quite to my liking actually (which was medium rare) with almost no fat or gristle. I'd say it was about 12 ounces, looked more like a strip steak, and was more than I could finish.
My family went for the fettucini and all three said that it was the best that they had ever tasted. They actually ordered it again later in the week and asked for some grilled shrimp or chicken to be added. Our waiter was happy to comply.
There was really nothing on the Caribbean menu that caught my eye, but maybe you, on the otherhand, would really enjoy the offerings. I'm sure some poeple did.
We missed Monday's Italian night to go to Sabatini's for Italian. Made sense to me at the time but maybe Tuesday would have been a better night to miss.

Thanks Ken. We were trying to arrange for the Ultimate Balcony Dinner and will probably do it on Caribbean night. We have been on several Princess cruises and always enjoy Sabatini's, and since we find the dining room Italian food to be pretty good, we will have to find another night to miss in our traditional dining...I will have to take another look at the menus posted online. Were there any other nights where you did not care for either the menu or food in the dining room?

Aquarian,
We were just on the CP this past week and escargot was served. We had it on the second formal night.

Bill; the website for the Western Caribbean is no longer active b/c the web master (or whatever the corect term is) is now sailing on Carnival instead of the caribbean Princess.
He Emailed me --because we were originally on the same cruise-- to tell me that he would leave the website up but no longer update it.

If you are sailing on the Caribbean Princess August 21, come post on the following roll call thread:
