Why is search feature always unavailable?

It is aggravating isn't it. I don't use the search engine too much because everytime I try it either says item not available or down due to maintenance. So I just quit.

I just got a reply back from someone at Cruise Critic who informed me that they are moving to vBulletin in the near future.

vBulletin is much more stable and the search engine works like a champ. It's also faster!
Oh, and does everything that is here now. (and more)


Let's hope it comes sooner than later.
