we would like to take a cruise on the mexican
riviera but have a few questions:
how are the beaches? a travel agent told me
they were not that nice and had strong currents
etc. is that true?
is the month of november a good time?
would like a recommendation for a pre cruise
hotel in the cruise pier area.
would really appreciate any advice from
experienced mexican riviera cruisers.

Larry,
There is a much better place for this question.
Mexican Riviera board (http://messages.cruisecritic.com/2/OpenTopic?a=frm&s=927093444&f=909097554)
Also, there are nice beaches there, but not as nice as say Hawaii or Southern Ca.
November is fine, in fact there is a group of very fun people going on the 27th, let me know if you want more fun than you can stand.
Sheraton in San Pedro is very popular and has a free shuttle to the ship.
Life is at it's best when your address floats

In Cabo there are strong rip tides but nice sandy beaches. Mazatlan, we were not impressed with the whole town and will stay on the ship next time. And as far as Puerto Vallarta goes?? It is our favorite. We have taken three land vacations down there and when you find a beach it is usually nice. The further you travel out of town the nicer they get. November is a nice time to go down there but your sea days might be a little cool. We usually fly down in the end of October or for Thanksgiving and the weather has always been nice.

one things for sure...the water is very very cold! We did this cruise a couple of years ago and I made my friends go snorkeling as first timers...living in SoCal all my life I knew the waters here were cool but I wasn't prepared, and we went in the summer! When we dove in Cabo, it was so cold I couldn't stop my teeth from chattering!
Mazatlan is interesting to tour by taxi to get the flavor but PV is the most fun and flavorful of all! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif
