This is really confusing us we have read these threads at length and have just called princess to enquire about caribe aft cabins following some good advice from bobandkaren and have been told that our aloha balcony is 13' x 9' how can this be? that would mean the aloha deck protrudes about 5 feet out over all the other balconys beneath???? any advice http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Look up the thread "AFT BB Balcony" as there are some posts with excellent info in it from swiss and bobandkaren with PHOTOS

the problem is that the room i have booked is a614 not an aft cabin so this cannot be 13 x 9 can it? they are saying that i need not go to caribe aft as my aloha balcony will be the above dimensions.

vikry - sounds suspicious to me. We were on Golden Aloha Deck (A625) 5/2 - 5/9. This was on the starboard side and none of the balconies were that large and none extended over the balconies below. I strongly suspect this is true for the port side of the ship. You may want to call again and speak to someone different.

Vikry -

According to everything I've ever read on this board - including MANY comments from Burbunny, the acknowledged queen of Princess cruising - Grand-class balconies on the Lido, Aloha, and Baja decks are ALL 9 X 5 and completely covered. Caribe balconies are 9 X 9, half-open/half covered, and aft BBs are slightly larger. I'm fairly confident that whoever you spoke with at Princess flat-out goofed on this one.

If you really want to be compulsive I would second Surfnsun's suggestion, call Princess again and get a second opinion. Good luck!

Honey, it’s been a lovely cruise."

thanks for all the responses bob&karen particularly have been very helpful in a couple of enquiries, have contacted princess thay have apologised and had got it all wrong. Its great that there is such a reliable source of info provided on these boards. Following bob&karens advice i have requested we are moved to caribe deck there were no aft cabins available but we have c612 which seems finen with what seems like the best of both worlds on the balcony.
Thanks again

You will love the balcony, so glad you changed. We had Caribe BB on Grand. They are semi-private if you are wondering.
