How early is too early?

We are going on the Tahitian Princess in January. Do you think it is too early to book our pre and post cruise stays? Any suggestions on Moorea pensions? I have found a rate on an overwater bungalow at the Tahiti beachcomber for 280 a night. so, what to do, stay on Tahiti or stay on Moorea at a pension? help!

has anone stayed here in an owb? How is the snorkeleing here? Rates have dropped to 235 a night. Anyone have any feedback?
