We had a wonderful week aboard the CP. We had a Lido deck room, which was great! Good was generally quite good. Shows were good....not great, but generally entertaining. Casino slots were VERY tight. Everyone seemed to be losing. The Movies Under the Stars was really nice. Any questions? I will be glad to try & answer.

We are in L310 in two weeks. Did you have a balcony? Did you enjoy the room? Were you port or starbord side and did you get a lot of sun? Did you do the champagne balcony dinner? Did you do traditional dining or PC? Did you use the spa and get a treatment?

Hi Sweetsea, glad to hear you had a great time on the CP! Were you playing quarter or dollar slots? What dining rooms did you use (and were you traditional or PC?). Also interested in any spa experiences. Thanks in advance. Amanda.

How was the movie under the stars? What films were showing? Old or new? How was the sound? What was the charge? Could you order drinks while movie watching? Sorry -- lots of q's but dh is really excited about the movie thing and we couldn't really find any info out there.

We were in L301, Balcony..port side. Our friends were in L302 Starboard. We could hear Piano music in our room around midnight each night. This was styrange because the nearest piano was in Crooners on deck 7. Lido is deck 15. It was not too loud, but very curious that we could plainly hear it. We could never figure out where it was coming from. We also had friends in L256 (right next door) You could NOT hear it in their room, nor could our friends in L302 Starboard. It was not something that botherd us however. The Movies were Somethings Gotta Give & Intolerable Crulty. They also had Tina Turner concert & Tom Jones concert. The Tina concert was quite good. Yes, you could order drinks. They give you chair pads & blankets & popcorn. I was not expecting this feature to be anything that fun, but it really was great! In the casino, we really did try it all. We are all six in our group pretty experienced gramblers. We tried all slots & even the table games (blackjack) They had unusual rules on some tables. Like dealers dealt face up & all ties, the dealer wins. No push. Truly, I expect to lose in the casino, but with the amount we were all playing, it seemed unsual that no one won a thing. Lots of the same complaints in the casino. Many felt like the slots were extremely tight. We had traditional dining in the Island Dining Room. Fodd was generally quite good. Service was very slow on some nights. Not sure what the problem was, because our waiter, Sam, always seemed busy. By the last night, there was another asst. waiter there to help him. Spa reports were good. I never went, but the other two wifes' had a massage & manicure. They were pleased.

Also wanted to mention that the pillows are kinda hard. Just ask for a feather pillow & it will be brought to you. Also, as mentioned, there definitely is a sewer smell in some locations. It was only really bad up high near the golf course on the first day, before sailing. Other days & places, you may only catch a wiff now & again. Really nothing terrible.

Sweetsea:
Glad to hear you had a good time. I do have one question. Did you happen to try to aft pool area (I believe it is the Terrace pool). Were there chairs available back there?
Thanks!

Sweetsea, glad to hear you had a wonderful week. Question on MUTS - I understand they play 2 movies for the whole week at 7:30 and 10:30 - is this every night of the week or just a few nights?

CKandJK: We were in the aft pool alot. It is nice back there, but much smaller than the Grand & Golden. The kids area is back there too, but roped off from the pool area. The movies were not shown every night. Some night had a Tina Turner concert, Tom Jones concert & a Wizard of Oz show. First couple of shows were crowded & you needed tickets. However later in the cruise, you could just walk in & get a chair.

sounds like a good time overall
I am curious if you felt the motion of the ship that several posters have mentioned.

Occasionally, you can feel the motion, but not alot. I have felt motion on all the cruises I have been on. I had to wear the patch on the Grand and the Golden, but did NOT need the patch on the Caribbean. You really only notice the movement when the Captain puts the pedal to the metal in the evenings when he has a great distance to cover.

Sweetsea -- Is there an area of the Horizon Court/Caribe Cafe that is outdoors? In looking at the deck plans I can't tell. On other ships we have loved taking our breakfast out on the deck, usually overlooking the pool. Hope we'll be able to do this on the Caribbean. Thanks for your help.

Eastern cruises are generally more"rocky" than the Western caribbean. It was very windy last week & the first few days had alot of movement. Of course when the ship is in the Atlantic, it causes more movement. By the time we got into the Caribbean, the ride was much smoother. No one was sick in our group of six, and one in our group is very sensitive to seasickness. So I would not consider the movement to be too bad.

Majj: Yes, outside of Cafe Caribe, they have a few tables. It overlooks the aft pool. This area is much smaller than on the Golden.

Could you comment about the nightlife on board. We're nightbirds and also like the casino.
Thanks

Let's see, besides the casinos (I didn't win anything either), there is your choice of shows in the Princess Theater: Caribbean Caliente Not to be missed!) and Let's Rock, to comedians, magicians, and hypnotists in Club Fusion. There is also Princess Idol competition in Club Fusion several times during the week. In the Explorer's Lounge, there is something different every night. There is the Wheelhouse Lounge with different musical acts every night. There is Skywalkers Nightclub open at 10 PM with DJ Motion. There are movies and concerts under the stars on the big screen. There is Crooner's with a pianist/singer who will take requests. The trouble is finding the time to see/hear it all. We spent less time in the casino this year that on past cruises because the slots didn't seem to be paying. Don't miss Pub Night. Check your Princess Patters for the time and night. Also, the champagne waterfall after the second formal night is a must-see. Free champagne and music and dancing.

You will have to have several alter egos to be able to see it all.
Don't miss the fruit carving....don't miss the ice carving..the cooking demonstration, plus all that you read above...there is plenty for everyone...far more than you will get to see.
Don't miss the Princess Idol competition for laughs and sillies. The Magician...the Tony Tillman show in Princess Theater...mmmm the trivia game in crooners...the shenanigans at the center pool in the afternoon...and plenty more that we never stayed awake to see.
Trust me you will not be bored for the the lack of choices.
