Just got back from a wonderful cruise to Alaska! When I find the words to describe everything I will write a review. Overall things were terrific in every way. I found that I could use my AAA card to lock the safe rather than my credit card. Category C cabin on the lower prom deck was great - I was steps away from the outside! Weather was sunny everyday but Ketchikan. Dress code - 2 formal nights and the rest were casual! Food was wonderful, crew was great, spaces to sit and read or look were numerous and very comfortable, ambiance was wonderful, people were great. But the scenery! The whales! The naturalists! How does one describe that? Seas calm except for first day - not really that bad for me - used Bonine but many had trouble. I tried to concentrate on moving with the ship rather than fighting it and I did not listen to others who talked about being ill nor did I look out at the water that first day unless I was outside. I could not ride the exercise bike - it was like biking on the ocean and made me queezy. Up at 5 AM and outside to look and gape at the beauty of Alaska. Found a great glacier viewing site on the front of the ship above the general area where many people stood - it was two decks above that - right below the bridge and right in front of the windows of the crew's quarters (officers?) You could lean up against the wall and the railing was very high. Only a handful of folks were there and you have a 180 degree view. I was prepared for most things thanks to this board. Took too many nice clothes for informal dinners and too many shorts - only wore 1 pair - mostly Jeans and a sweater with a sweatshirt. It was great!! More later. Be glad to answer any questions....
