I just checked the Princess website and didn't find the announcement. Did I miss it? or maybe it was in a press release and not posted on their website?

According to Julie Benson, Princess' director of public releations, the damage to Diamond Princess' starboard prop was limited to scratches on the tips of the blades, which divers ground down prior to the ship leaving Seattle. The ship is cruising near normal speed at 20 knots, and there is no reason to believe that the ship would need to be taken out of service for any further repairs.
"We are definitely not canceling canceling any cruises," Benson told Cruise News Daily Sunday afternoon.
The Cruise News Daily website will be updated as further details become available.

I've gotten a kick out reading some of the threads regarding this incident.
One person talked about the 50 foot gash in the hull!
Another talked about the Azipod propulsion system being damaged being damaged - as far as I know, all Princess ships have traditional propellors and drive shafts!
Another talked about the "dry shaft" - that would be somewhat hard on the bearings and their mounts!

Just wondered if anyone has heard anything new today about the 5/29 sailing. I know we saw the press release from cruise news daily yesterday, but just wondering if anyone heard anything more today?
Thanks,
Lynda

Lynda,
We are watching like a hawk. Called again today and they said no problems with next week and that the "Problem has been repaired" ! Music to my ears... http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks, cydspal. I also just called and was told that everything was on schedule and that they expect the 5/22 sailing to be back in Seattle on time. I was also told that the 5/29 cruise will stop in all scheduled ports. That is very good news. Forever the optimist, I believe what they said.
