;) I gather information for our group's next cruise (8-10 of us) Tentative 2007 cruise is New England/Canada. Would appreciate comments from anyone who has taken this cruise. Is June or September better? And any other comments you would like to make. Thanks....:o

Best Fall Foliage colors are usually mid-October!

We hit the colors perfectly, 10-92, and didn't have quite so vibrant colors 9-97.

Peak tree peeping color in New England varies every year by weather conditions. How high/low the temperatures. How much rain.

It is not common to have a lot of color until October.
June can be wonderful. Warm, sunny. OR it can be like the miserable first half of the month of June we just had. The worst rain in our recorded weather history or something close to that. This week was beautiful. The week before was awful.

No one can be sure what to expect of weather in New England.

Don't expect to see much in the way of Fall Foliage when you are at sea level---the best color is in the mountains. Even so, I would bet on September for better weather than June. Wet, rainy Springs tend to last in this neck of the woods. Then it's hot and humid. There's no in-between.
September is more likely to have sunny, warm, glorious days with cool evenings. Delightful.

I went mid September in 1994. It was one of the best cruises I have been on. We sailed from Montreal to New York (10 days). I want to do this again. We just missed the fall foliage, but who cares, it was the ports we wanted to see.
