Does the Amsterdam have a dedicated movie theater?

I sailed on her 5 years ago and then it did. I am sure it still does. Enjoy the Amsterdam, we did.

Haven't been on the Amsterdam, but the deck plan in the 2006 Europe brochure shows a movie theater.

I hope HAL doesn't elimate dedicated movie theaters - Princess has not included them on newbuilds, and Regal Princess is last ship in their fleet with one.

Showing movies in multi-purpose lounges just doesn't do it for me!

HAL did eliminate the dedicated movie theatres on their Vista Style ships, which I think is a mistake. Those chairs in the lounges are not good for watching a movie.

Semantics I suppose.

Not including for newbuilds I consider different than eliminating, which I interpret as meaning removing. NCL for example removed the dedicated movie theater and the indoor pool from Crown Odyssey, when they remodelled the ship to fit their style of cruising.

I don't mean to quibble - merely trying to expand upon my previous post.

Sorry Duke 1, I guess I mis-understood. I thought you meant dedicated threatres, which HAL did eliminate dedicated movie theatres on their Vista Style ships, but still do have a place to show movies, which, like I said, isn't very comfortable.

Yes, it's the Wajang Theatre down on Promenade Deck.
It's also used for cooking demos...

It did in January ... and they showed movies there just about every day. The Wajang Theatre.

Well, I guess technically the Wajang Theater is a multi-purpose lounge, but it does have a big movie screen, plus two large screen TV's (one on each side of the lounge) which work great for showing movies. Fresh popcorn too. They also show regular TV in there ... especially while passengers are waiting to be called for their shore excursions ... and have all the cooking demos there, as well as some other events. Although I have to admit that I never went there to watch a movie, I did attend protestant services there just about every morning, and I found the seats to be very comfortable.

Blue skies ...
