On the deck plans, I see a door right next to C752 and C753? Does anyone know what is behind there?

It's the torture chamber for the passengers caught smuggling booze on board.

They're strapped down and fed leftovers too old to serve on the lido deck and forced to watch 'Dragnet' for the whole cruise.

That's Chris' (cmjsr) emergency escape hatch.

You had to be there, I guess. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Really it is a stairway used for an emergency. The crew frowns on pax using them. I have stayed in C752 on the Grand Princess and I will be staying in C752 on the Cribbean Princess this Sept.

Oh - I was hoping for a secret stairwayhttp://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I am in c743 and also noticed the door. Kept thinking this might be my shortcut! Now I will have to WALK and WALK and WALK. Hmmmm.....Maybe if you start complaining BEFORE the cruise, it's much betterhttp://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Okay...Will behave!Seeing as I am trying to lose weight (ideally some of it BEFORE the cruise) the walking will just help. Might even get to skip a workout or two!!!

We were in C749 on the Dawn and one of my fellow Cc'rs just had to know what was behind the door. It just a stairwell, and it doesn't really get you anywhere unless you know what you're doing. I was also hoping for a secret passage but no such luck. The door is not alarmed so you can look in there without getting caught!

PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF!

As SpongeRob mentioned above, it really is "CMJSr"'s secret passageway!

As Chris, SpongeRob, and several others from our cruise will attest, it's only prohibited if you get caught. http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

It's probably a crew stairwell and emergency exit. On the Golden, we used it to get to the lounge for the lifeboat drill.

Kathy & Dave, you're absolutely correct. From the Caribe deck it's VERY handy for traveling up to the aft pool, or down to your buddy's minisuite (say, CMJSr's cabin, for example) on the Emerald Deck.

After a while you get really good at running the other way when you hear footsteps coming. Having tip money in your pocket also helps http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

No, they face directly aft. You can sort of see around the corner and off to the side, but it doesn't wrap around.

It's a stairwell. It's the emergency route for the Muster(sp) station. The other door nearby is a supply closet.

Thanks Rob. Does anyone know of any balcony cabins with a wrap around. Looking to book the Star Princess for Oct 2005 if that's where she'll be sailing from. The schedule isn't out yet so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Are Cabins C752 & C753 good cabins? We are thinking about switching to to one of them for our upcoming cruise in Feb. 2005. An aft cabin would be great. Any opinions would appreciated.
thanks

Helen - C752/753 are great because you get a wraparound view (both straight back, and off to one side), AND, if you're on the Caribbean Princess, they do not have the large vertical beam that intrudes on some of the Cat BB aft balconies. The below picture is of the Caribbean Princess, it'll give you a good sense of what I mean.
