I will be going on my honeymoon in July and my fiance and I have been booked in a minisuite, D732. Is this a good location? Being so far aft, I'm not sure what that's going to mean for noise, motion, etc. Also, it's the last cabin on the port side. How will this affect balcony size, view, privacy, etc.? Neither of us have cruised in many years, so any suggestions on how to make this special would be most appreciated. Thanks!

You might want to have your TA confirm that the beds can be moved to queen configuration. On the Grand Princess, I believe that this cabin is non-converting. It might not be the same on the Golden, but the deck plans I have all list this cabin with the asterisk that indicates non-converting twins. After all, it's a honeymoon, so you'd best make sure!

Travelocity deck plans show this as a wheelchair-accessible stateroom but not necessarily non-converting! If this were my honeymoon I would be calling Princess to make sure http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I have seen a couple of places that this is wheelchair accessible. In what ways is this different from other minisuites?

Thanks!

Thankfully, I have never had to use a wheelchair-accessible cabin! I expect the main differences are in the widths of the doors both to enter the cabin and to the bathroom (to accommodate the wheelchair), the set up in the bathroom...roll in shower with no bathtub, and probably a little more square footage to allow for easier movement about the cabin! Again, I strongly recommend a call to Princess/TA to ask your questions about a specific cabin's configuration!

I think they were originally envisioned as accessible cabins. The bathroom would therefore be larger, and shower only. I wish I'd taken a better look at D732 when we were next to it on the Grand, but I did see that the beds were in twin configuration in an L-shape. This is worth double-checking, particularly if your TA is not a cruise specialist or familiar with Princess ships.

Apologies in advance, but I have to say it:

I don't think you should be worried too much about the "motion" on the ship if you're on your honeymoon! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

In fact, if anyone should be worried, it will be the people in the surrounding cabins.

(Now I can only hope my wife doesn't see this post and slap me for it!)

HAHAHA... http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I just called Princess and the rep told me that the room is minisuite with shower only. It is not a handicap room. Anyone have any experience with a room like this? Really the only reason that we got the minisuite instead of the balcony was so that the future Mrs. would be able to sit down to shave her legs. With the shower only it kind of defeats the purpose, but the rep said that since we took a guarantee, there's not much we can do (the ship is full). Anyway, do these rooms have showers larger than normal? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
