Question, We are booked in a BA for next April on 10 day southern, should we spend twice the money and get the minisuite? I know its comparable to a regular suite on the Grand, we have been in 2 of the minis on the Grand and one balcony cabin on the Caribe deck with the larger balcony, also an aft Cat 9A on the Conquest class of Carnival and an aft S suite on the Zuiderdam, anyway will we be unhappy with the size of a regular BA cabin? Right now the price is about $500pp more than I would want to pay but this is for 10 days not 7 and we actually spend time in our cabin and on our balcony. Also would you pick the Cat AC on the sides or the Cat AB aft, the price difference here isn't that great. Does anyone know if the minis sell out very quickly? There are plenty available now but we are 11 months out yet. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Personally, if you can spare the extra $$$, on this particular class I'd go for the mini-suite. The standard balcony cabins on the Dawn are only 179 sq. ft. INCLUDING the balcony. That was actually the reason we switched our 10 day southern caribbean cruise next winter to the Celebrity Summit. We had looked at the Sun Princess, but the size of those balcony cabins scared us off. But we couldn't spare the extra money for the upgrade to the mini-suite (it would have cost us an add'l $700 over and above what we are paying for Celebrity). For a 10 day cruise, if you can afford it, go for the mini-suite.

Definitely if you can, go for the mini suite. I think it would make your cruise so much more enjoyable, especially since you are used to having a bit more space. The regular cabins on the Sun Class are tiny in comparison. And even the balcony cabins include the balcony in the square footage of the cabin as it is sort of 'cut out' of your actual cabin.
We have done both, a balcony and a mini suite on the Sun Class and we would NEVER go back to a balcony cabin again.

It's a matter of $$ - there is no comparison here ----the Minis are great on the Dawn (Sun Class)--unlike the Grand Class. -which are just an extended balcony cabin with an extra TV and a bathtub - not worth too much in my opinion....but on the "Sun Class" - the minis. are worth the $$ (if you can do it....)

We were on the Dawn on 2/22 sailing and got upgraded to a mini-suite in the aft of the ship. It was fabulous. As stated above, it would be worth it; especially for a 10 day cruise. Good luck.
Thanks, Larry.

Thanks for all the answers and the great photos. I think we will go for the minisuite, since we are used to a little extra space!

We had the full aft suite but got to see a mini and I would have been happy in one of them also. They're beautiful!
