We are cruising in September on the Casanova. We have been notified that our on-board account will be charged $6/person/day for a supplemental "fuel charge".
Anyone else getting extra charges due to the oil price hikes??

We did two river cruises (not with Deilmann) one in June and again in July and paid fuel surcharges.

On an end of May early June Avalon Waterways trip, there was no surcharge for fuel.

Viking charged us a $5/day pp at time of booking.
Our cruise is in Oct. and haven't heard about any additional charge.

newrivercruiser,
Nearly all river cruise lines do charge fuel surcharges. We paid a surcharge for our recent cruise on the Mississippi Queen in the U.S. too. By the way gas prices here in Germany are app. $6 per gallon for regular, a bit less for diesel.

Hi Everyone,
now I got concerned too about this surcharge thing and I contacted UET - we booked through them a Amadeus Russian Waterways cruise - and I was assured that there will be NO surcharges for Amadeus Waterways cruises. If you booked air through them and a surcharge for the air fare is coming up they will notify you and give you the opportunity to pay the air fare before the surcharge becomes effective. You may have to do this immediately or within a few days. They have a strict "No Surcharge Policy". That was good to hear !

E-Mailed Avalon today regarding fuel surcharges. Their reply indicated that they do not presently add a fuel surcharge nor do they plans on adding one in the future. Am on their Rhine & Mosel cruise in Oct. for 14 nights, that could be an additional $168.00 per couple.
