Its been forever since we went on a cruise, and the last time we were staying in town when the ship returned to New Orleans. I was wondering if its possible to purchase transfers from the dock to the airport from HAL? if so would I jsut call them directly to arrange this? Or does my TA (I used an online one) have to do it for me? thanks

You didn`t say which port you were sailing out of, but anyway, you can purchase them onboard if you didn`t do it when booking.......jean:cool:

Jean's answer is spot-on. The Shore Excursion Office will have the transfers available for purchase.
You should also be able to purchase them in advance. Your TA ought to be able to do it for you; the vouchers would then be included in your documents.

HERE'S ANOTHER SIMILAR QUESTION...
We've already purchased (and paid HAL for through our TA) our transfers from the ship to the airport for our October WESTERDAM round-trip Ft. Lauderdale cruise at $12 per person. I've been contemplating doing a Post-Cruise Ft. Lauderdale excursion to take up some of the time from when we disembark to when our plane leaves. If we do this, will the $12 that we already paid per person apply to the "new" excursion fee (because the excursion fee includes a transfer to the airport)? Or, will we have to "eat" the $12.00???

Yes, the price will be reduced the transfer amount. Most likely you will be requested to turn in the transfer vouchers to the Shore Excursion Office in exchange for the tour w/transfer voucher.
At least that's what I have had to do in the past.

San Diego
Don't waste your money on buying HAL's transfers. The airport is very close and there are tons of cabs right outside the terminal.
In fact you can see the airport from the ship!!!

KK (pardon the informality),
We'll be staying in London (not through HAL) several days prior to the Rotterdam leaving from Harwich (May 07). Does HAL do bus transfers to the port from central London or only from the airports? Is there a way to hook up with a HAL transfer without booking flight/hotel through HAL?
Thanks,
Richard

You would probably have to go back to the airport if you aren`t staying in a HAL hotel. You didn`t say which airport, Heath Row or Gatwick. Either way they are both a considerable distance from Central London. There is a subway station in both airports, or buses go from Victoria station...........jean:cool:
Debjo, to take the post cruise tour of FLL, your flight has to be scheduled for later than 2pm:cool:

THANKS RuthC...
It always helps to know how this has worked with other cruise passengers. You are always SO HELPFUL!
And to elmorejj...
Our flight out of Ft. Lauderdale isn't until 4:50 pm, so we should be OK with doing a post-cruise excursion. I really don't want to wait around the Ft. Lauderdale airport for several hours and then again for 3 hours at JFK where we have to transfer to another plane to get home. That's just too many hours "waiting" in an airport!

If you will be staying in London prior to boarding the Rotterdam in Harwich next May, the easiest, quickest and cheapest mode of transport is the "cruise train" from Liverpool Street Station non-stop to the Harwich International Terminal. It will cost you between 20-25 GPB pp and takes about one hour and twenty-five minutes. Check this website which should lead you to info on this year's trains: www.harwich.com (http://www.harwich.com)
If for some reason the cruise train does not operate next year One Railway has hourly service to Harwich. This trip takes an additional 20 minutes or so because of local stops. www.onerailway.com (http://www.onerailway.com) (I think!)
Much cheaper than hiring a car and saves the hassle of going back to the airport. Highly recommended.
Click on the Europe Port of Calls Board, and then go to the British Isles/Western Europe Board. You should find additional info there about getting from London to Harwich.

We cruised out of San Diego this past December and it was about $9, including tip, from the airport to the ship. They were plentiful too. It took all of 15 minutes to get there and unloaded.
