Has anyone done this, and did they enjoy it versus other mellow excursions in this port? It needs to be mellow because of elderly mom.

Sorry, haven't done that tour. We felt that watching as our HAL ship arrived & departed was enough for us. But, maybe you can get better responses on the CC "Alaska" thread. (I bet you already posted there!)

There is a ride about town on a very big carriage (holds lots of folks, not just a few). Some seem to enjoy this tour. If your Mom is in a wheelchair & can't transfer to a seat, I doubt this tour would work. If she can be transferred, you might check & see if this service is offered, if you are interested.

If she likes to shop - there's shopping galore! You might see if a HAL wheelchair can be used or rent one to meet you at the pier. The shopping area is level enough for a wheelchair.

We tendered. Don't know if you will or not. You might want to check. The ramp from the dock to the ground level was nearly staight upppp! Some elderly had to be carried up in wheelchairs.

Good luck & have fun.
