We are thinking of booking our first Disney cruise for October 2007.
The T.A. informed us the deposits are $1000 per cabin. Ouch! Does this sound "normal" for a Disney cruise?
The most I've ever paid on Celebrity was $500 and on Princess we paid $200.
Just curious.

we had to deposit $1k when we made our last reservation (which was done while on board). The cancellation policies are pretty liberal, though.

We paid $200.00 per person for the deposit. We went through a TA, but it seems to be the same on the Disney Cruise online site as well. We are looking at a cat 8 or 9 though. Is the deposit different for different categories??

It depends on the length of the cruise. For a 7 day we paid $250 per person. For a 3 or 4 day I think the deposit was $200 per person.
Our friends booked a cat 3 and their deposit was $500 per person for the 7 day Western Caribbean.

I wanna say it was $250 or maybe $300 each for my husband and I(I've slept since then). Started out Cat. 7,moved up to Cat. 6.

Our friends booked a cat 3 and their deposit was $500 per person for the 7 day Western Caribbean.
That makes sense; there were 4 of us on a 7-day, and we paid $1k.

Our cruise will cost us $2,402.90 our Deposit is only $400
2 people, 3 night, romantic escape package added.

We're hoping to go on Magic to Western Carib. on 10/6.
I found out the deposits are $250 pp (we have four people per cabin).

3 and 4 night cruises, its $200 per person, 7 night cruises $250 per person. On longer cruises and in category 1-3 cabins, I believe that the deposit is higher and non-refundable.
