FYI: Glory Itinerary Change Starts Apr 10

Due to construction of a pier in Key West, the Carnival Glory will be callin' at Costa Maya from 11:30-7:00 instead of Key West as the first port of call for cruises leaving April 10 - October 23.. I looked around for this in the thread (maybe not far enough?) and didn't see this..

Hi Caroline.

Being the compulsive kind of person I am, I have called Carnival on 3 separate occasions to inquire about the itinerary change for the Glory cruise/April 10. I have been told each time that this applies to May 1st thru October cruises only.

I will probably call again this week as a last time before we sail, to double check my info. But that's the final word, so far.

Per Carnival Fax dated 3.28.04 to our office for effected cruises our clients are sailing aboard the "Glory".

Costa Maya will replace the port of call of Key West due to construction work on the berth where the "Glory" is scheduled to dock.

"This change will be effective with cruises departing April 10, 2004 thru cruises departing Oct. 23, 2004."

The info I received from Carnival is the same as Travel Angel's -- they stated that the April 10 cruise is when they are replacing Key West with Costa Maya.

I also received a copy of this letter from Carnival via my TA and it stated the same thing. However, I took it upon myself to call several times since and have been assured letter or no letter, the itinerary effects crusies after May.

I truly hope that this is the case as I too booked this cruise partly for the stop in Key West. I have lived in Florida for 43 years but have never made it to the keys and pray that my luck hasn't changed.

I also received the fax from Carnival stating the change woukld be from April 10th thru Oct 23. Then I got a second fax stating that the sailings on April 10 and April 24 would still stop at Key West and the change would not occur until the May sailings. I am anxious to see where we end up on our sailing on April 24th. Either port is OK with me. I am just anxious for it to get here.

Beth, we just booked today. We may have booked the last balcony on the ship but the main reason was that we wanted to be in Key West next Sunday.
Do you know for sure that this change has been made? I thought that the change was not supposed to be made until May.

The only information I have is the original letter Carnival faxed out that stated the Glory's itinerary would change effective with the 4/10/04 cruise. I wasn't aware of a second letter, but that's probably because our cruise isn't until May 22. I would think they only notified people who were booked on the 4/10 and 4/24 cruises to let them know if they are still stopping in Key West.

Beth, I just e-mailed my TA and her reply is that the new itinerary does not start until May 8.
She books many Carnival cruises so I think that she would know.
I will be calling Carnival Customer Service in the morning.

I am booked on the Glory 4/24/04. I received two faxes on 3/24/04. The one at 9:31 AM stated the itinerary change effective April 10 thru Oct.23, 2004. The second fax I received 2:48PM stating departures on April 10 and
April 24 will not require an itinerary change. The new itinerary change would be effective May 8 through Oct. 23, 2004.

Thank you everyone for the reassurances! I was getting conflicting reports and was worried that we would indeed end up in Costa Maya. Now, I have nothing against Costa Maya (I've never been...how could I?) but I booked this particular cruise because it had the Key West stop.

Either way, great news!

My DH and I are leaving this Saturday and can hardly stand the wait.

We only booked last Sunday and have not sailed on Carnival in quite a while. Is is possible to do our immigration, sign and sail cards online now?
We sailed on HAL the last couple of times and you can do those online. It makes it so much easier.
