I have a question I hope someone out there can answer. When we sailed on Fantasy in 2002, we were only able to obtain Coke products. We are now leaving on the Glory April 10 and my husband was wondering if he will again be subjected to "Coke" only as the soda of choice.

Thanks for the help! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

Yes, Carnival carries Coke products only. You may however carry on reasonable amounts of Pepsi to enjoy!

Ah, cola wars. I'm just the opposite - I hate Pepsi. I wonder what Royal Caribbean serves? Why can't they serve a whole variety of stuff? Unless Carnival has some exclusive contract with Coke.

I hope they serve diet and diet caffeine free. I can't have regular coke.

Does anybody know?

haha my boyfriend was so desperate for a mountain dew that when we got to Cozumel, he wouldn't allow us to do ANY sightseeing until we found some mountain dew. Took an hour and a half but we FINALLY found a tiny shop on a side street that had it. They had 4 bottles of it and he bought all 4.
They ended up being neat souvneiers becuase the bottles were in spanish.
speaking of soda, www.popvssoda.com (http://www.popvssoda.com) is an interesting website.

I know that they have Diet Coke, not sure if they have caffeine free.

My wife and I are Diet Coke drinkers. In our house pepsi is a 4 letter word.

Actually, my wife and I are practically addicted to Diet Vanilla Pepsi. This stuff is awesome and I can't even drink a regular Diet Pepsi anymore. It's just a pain to find sometimes. But on the cruise, we're gonna stick to juices and this stuff everyone keeps raving about...the fruit punch! Free & Delicious??? Gotta try it! http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Coke sucks!!! Pepsi is the best. I hope carnival realises some day that pepsi is the choice of many. Diet pepsi is the one, though.

Just about every major cruise line including all of the Carnival owned lines carry Coke products only. You will not find Pepsi on board. Someone asked about RCI. Coke products.

I lug my Pepsi and orange slice along or order it delivered. Can't do coke all week and the cabin stewards like the extra I don't drink. Even if they don't like it, it makes good trading for them.

Yes several companies deliver gifts to the ships that you can order. I have had various items delivered including wine and beer but always get my soda sent on if possible. Also for daughter's 5th birthday I am having a child's fun basket delivered to her.

RCI and Celebrity both have Coke products only. Ditto for HAL.

If you think Pepsi drinkers are bad, try the Dr. Pepper fans. My wife ended up searching all over San Juan for her Dr. Pepper fix only to find that the Dr. Pepper in San Juan is imported from Dallas - only 20 minutes away from us.

On our last cruise we had to take along a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper. She got some strange looks from the other passengers when she calmly drank from her Dr. Pepper can.

Live on Diet Coke (unfortunately it is used to wash down pizza so you'd never know it) but i own Pepsi stock. I'm so conflicted!

pirateover40...you think that's bad...I go to Chuy's and order the big ol' Elvis platter and a Diet Coke!!! You know the waiter has to be thinking "poor, delusional soul". I drink about 8-10 Diet Cokes a day...no joke...my mother has drank Coke all her life...one right after the other...she's 80...go figure...but back to the topic...obviously I vote for Coke.

I prefer Pepsi (a little sweeter, and just all around more refreshing, especially when it is ICE COLD, I love it when it almost burns like dry ice going down)

However, Coke is a good product and unfortunately for Pepsi addicts, pretty much rules the cruise/restaurant franchises (with a few notable exceptions..KFC, Pizza Hut, etc)

I spoke with a client who owns a Pepsi franchise. He told me that Pepsi regularly outsells Coke nationally IN THE STORES. However Coke kicks their butt in off store sales. Internationally Pepsi does well, but Coke still outsells them.

Another interesting factoid: Wal-Mart's generic cola is, in actuality Royal Crown Cola (RC), RC
is strong is a few pockets of the country but its biggest sales are now under the Sam's Cola label. My Pepsi friend admits that RC is an excellent product (I agree, as good as Pepsi, better than Coke) and he is glad he doesn't have to contend with a franchise locally.

MrNobody,
I do love Chuy's. I used to have Attitude Adjustments at the one on N. Lamar. I live closer to the one on Research. I know it's nonsense but the food on Research doesn't seem as good. Tried Mesa Rosa? Good margaritas....
Oh yeah this was about soft drinks.
