Is there anywhere near the port to purchase wine and soda (diet free Coke) for the cruise?

Across the street from the ship, there were several take-out places to buy water, coke, etc. Or if you make the Spice Market your last stop, before hopping in a cab for the short ride back to the port, there is a grocery store of sorts, that sells drinks, maybe wine? to the left of the entrance to the Spice Mkt. (There were also many ATM's along the street across from the port, if you need local currency.)

Since we will be in Istanbul from Nov 23-27 hopefully we will be able to check out the situation. Just don't want to have to take bottles on board with our luggage. Prefer to go back out and get the stuff.

A regular can of diet coke on Nautica is $2 plus 18% service............not sure of the price across from the Portthough not sure you will make any great saving.

Don't they have plastic 2 liter bottles in Istanbul? Know he has to "Sample" the coke first. Sometimes it does taste different in Europe.

You might ask your driver to take you to the nearest Tarsus supermarket - there was one right below the Conrad Istanbul in Beskitas. You can buy bottles of Coke or Coke "Light" from 500 ml to 2 litres. Load up on bottled water as well - they come in handy on shore excursions and they were the equivalent of 25 cents each - cheaper than you'd find them anywhere else on your cruise!

Thank you. It would be worth the taxi ride. Will be too much to take on board with our luggage; even tho Lanny and his harem of 3.
