Hello,

I am new to HAL, having cruised exclusively Celebrity and Princess up till now. I found the below HAL itinerary to my liking, but according to the website, it is sold out. Does HAL use a waiting list? Are there experienced HAL cruisers out here that can give me tips as to how to get a balcony cabin? Thanks!

Call your travel agent, that's what we do.

Is there an AAA agency near you? They may have booked space.

I have been on a wait list before. When it is time for final payment many times people cancel. There is hope for you.

When is this cruise scheduled to set sail? Willowtak is right. When final payment time comes around, there are people who have reservations who cancel. Call a TA or HAL and see what they tell you.

The only one time we went on a Wait List (years ago), we put down a deposit. That moved us to the top of the list as they knew we were serious and had put down some money. It wasn't very long before our TA called we had our "S" Suite. Hope you are able to get a cabin.

Thanks everybody, especially the tip about putting down a deposit. I'll be calling HAL and some travel agents today. Thanks again!

One caveat about the waitlist. You won't know for sure what rate you will be paying if you clear.

This is also a segment of the world... which people booked over 16 months ago.

Good Luck

I'm not sure what cabin cat. you are wait listed on. We were on the 64 day Asia Pacific cruise in November when HAL "opened the books" on the 2007 World Cruise. We immediately booked the whole world cruise.

Our tsble mates on the cruise could not book a suite segment on the cruise. As early as that, HAL was not booking segments for suites. I guess they preferred trying to fill these cabins with clients that were taking the full cruise.

My son had not trouble just a couple of weeks ago booking an outside cabin on the UAE to Rome segment. I would think you would be able to get booked if you will take a non-suite cabin. You also might want to contact one of the big TAs that books lots of cabins. They tend to have larger blocks of unsold cabins.

But then again they may be sold out. My hunch is they give priority to full cruise bookings.
