We had this dog of a cabin 3/27/04.
Barely working air conditioning, flashes of light coming from the thermostat.
Slept on deck one night.
Sent many people to room, but noone could keep it cool for more than one day.
Carnival's compensation for this? 10% off a future cruise...
I don't think so!
I have been on 3 other lines and had one problem with a cabin. It was fixed within an hour.
Customer service and safety? I don't think it's there-at least on this sailing.
If you have had issues like this, or were on this vessel and had similar issues, it would be great to hear from you.

sounds like they should have changed out the thermostat! Must have had a run on them, and ran out at the wrong time.
Did you request a cabin change?

GREAT, my sons and nephews are in that cabin next month. We are in the one next to it. When you call Carnival, will you please ask them to fix the problem before our cruise? http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Seriously, though, I think you deserve more than 10% off your next cruise -- we got that just for writing a letter complimenting some crew members and complaining about our poor dining room service! Broken A/C is much worse!

I'll get on it Cruisemom.
It was a great location for kids and food, though.
At 12:30 am (with my kids already asleep) they offered to move us to something on deck 7. I declined at that hour.

Had one of these 10 percent discounts for complaining also. No TA would honor it with any discounted fare. They can keep their 10 percent.

It gets sent to Carnival and they provide the discount. It's supposed to work like cash off.
We've used 2 of those discount letters, one for 20% off & one for 10%
My Travel agents have had no problem about it.
Do make a copy before mailing off your origianl.

so what's up with Carnival.
They always claim the ship is full and there are no available cabins to move anyone to.
It's impossible that all sailings are full!
YA EVER NOTICE, THEY ALMOST ALWAYS POST A SIGN AT (THE PURSERS DESK) THAT THE SHIP IS FULL, SO DON'T ASK ABOUT UPGRADING.
