Can anyone give me any ideas for getting from airport to the ship in Copenhagen, Denmark? Will be flying in at 11:30 am and need to get to the ship. I am not booked with transfers from the cruise line. Does anyone know which pier Rotterdam uses? I have found 2 online!!
Thanks

You might also want to post to the roll call thread (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=376283) for your cruise...

Why not just book a HAL transfer? After a long, exhausting flight it's kind of nice to have a HAL representative find you and (pretty much) relieve you of further responsibilities.
They will direct you to finding your luggage, get someone to take it, direct you where to sit and wait for the others, then lead you to the bus. The bus will take you to the ship.
No muss-no fuss. :D

Try a cab, which is about $50. What is HAL for two on a bus?
According to www.tv.cphport (http://www.tv.cphport), the Rotterdam will be waiting for you at Frihavenen Orientkaj, at Quay 254. She's large, hard to miss when you get near. According to Rick Steeve's guide, Copenhagen taxis are pretty honest, often English speaking, and take credit cards. You will not be the first passengers asking to be taken to a specific cruise ship.

Thanks for the info. I wll try to book with HAL but may not be able to as I am not booking through them or an agency. I will be one of 2 RN's on board to do Kidney Dialysis for a company called Dialysys at sea. They pay our cruise, we pay our air!! Not a bad deal!! For that reason, I do not know if I will be able to get transportation throught the cruise line.
I did look at roll Call and saw only one site with passengers coming on the 9/2/06 Baltic.
Push comes to shove, Taxi it will be!!!
Thanks again, Ann

Taxis are very easy in Copenhagen and much less expensive that the HAL transfers. Plus, you do not have to wait around for a big group! The taxis also take credit cards! We have used them for transfers in this lovely city several times.
Have fun!

BllvAnn: I have read that the airport is pretty close to Copenhagen, and a cab will probably be quicker than the cruiseline transfer bus which will not leave until the bus fills up. The transfer busses start at 9AM and run until 2:30 PM according to our TA. We are on that cruise too, and my wife, Emily, is one of the 5 Dialysis patients. Treatment runs are at 5:30, 6:00, and 10:00 AM. You will like working with Frank, a real pro. My wife is going to get an Aranesp shot just before leaving so we will not have to bring EPO. We are looking for a great cruise, our 6th with Dialysis at Sea. See you on the ship. Jim and Emily Hodgman

Glad to hear from one of my To Be patients!! I am sure we will all have a great cruise. I have recently worked with Frank on an Alaskan cruise out of Vancouver and I do agree...he is a sweetie!! This will be my first Baltic cruise ever but my 12th cruise in all. It will be my 4th Dialysis cruise.
I guess I will just take a cab and get there quicker!! That way I may actually get to get off and see a tiny bit of Copenhagen!!
Looking forward to meeting you Emily and Jim, Ann
